James Rolfe: Yeah, yeah but the reason we met was because I played guitar for about 20 years or so but i wouldn't really count that because I've only been playing seriously for a few years, um, it was always a side hobby just something I would do every once in a while in the background and I never publicized it, I always kept it a secret that I played guitar. I don't know just never really felt like... There's so many great guitar players out there, what what what do I have to to add, I mean i'm very novice, um, so one day I just decided like "hey, you know, we're in the middle of, uh, Covid, was in the middle of 2020 and really bummed out and everything and we started this quarantine band, Rex Viper of course, and, um, it just made me feel so good and I posted it and then after, you know, we got a really positive response so then I posted a video of me playing some Black Sabbath riffs and you responded after that and, um...
Self - Guest: Yeah.
James Rolfe: It's funny because the first, it's the first time I ever got constructive criticism that said you need to use your pinky more.
Self - Guest: Yeah, I was watching you play, uh, Crazy Train and it was actually really impressive you were playing that without your pinky, I mean you were doing some serious stretches but i was like "man, get that pinky in there, dude", so yeah...
James Rolfe: Yeah.
Self - Guest: ...just like emailed you just on a whim like I didn't really expect you to respond but it's like "hey, you know, you want some guitar lessons and work on that pinky man" and yeah, you wrote back, it was cool.
James Rolfe: Yeah yeah and I actually can play with my pinky now, um...
Self - Guest: Yeah, you've done really good with that, yeah.
James Rolfe: Oh cool, thanks, yeah, so you would start giving me lessons and stuff I'm like, so I'm like "all right, um, sure I'll, I'll accept the lessons and uh, you know, um, I, I was always kind of just discouraged with playing guitar because it's, I was just like "oh it's it's too hard for me. I'm not gonna, I'm never gonna get that good" but you were really, uh, encouraging and, uh, you've been like, you know, teaching me lots of cool stuff and, uh, you know, we're still, we're you know, we're gonna do some more too, so...
Self - Guest: Yeah, no, I mean you've been like so excited, it's just cool to see how happy it makes you man like especially the Rex Viper show, I mean you're just like all smiles the whole time so I mean obviously as a guitar teacher that, that makes me happy obviously like just to see someone playing guitar and just being like "this is so awesome" and but yeah, you've been doing great in your lessons and we've already learned a lot, I think yeah you're doing really good man.
