The incumbent Boston mayor's last name is spelled Grantt on campaign posters and in the end credits. It is spelled Grant on the tally board in her campaign office shown on election night.
The boat driven by Hailey was a 1975 Grew 250 (a built-in-Canada, license built Slickcraft 245). I've never seen one of those with the helm on the port side, and they never had one of those cheesy wooden ship's wheels. I was amazed by how Hailey was able to start the engine by touching what was probably a depth-sounder/fish finder, and pull away from the dock without apparently touching the throttle.
When Noah found a book containing regulations for the county, he pronounced Barnstable as one would pronounce horse stable. The correct pronunciation is as one would pronounce the word "constable".
When Noah catches a fish from the shore, it is recognized as a grouper. Grouper do not inhabit waters as far north as Cape Cod. Bass fishing and Blue fishing are common in this area. Atlantic grouper generally only travel as far north as North Carolina.
The accents heard in this film are not what I hear when I visit the Cape. As a southern New Englander and a frequenter to the Cape and Islands,I noticed most of the accents were Northern New England (Maine or Vermont) and not what you generally hear in South Eastern Massachusetts.
When Noah asked Hailey for a date, she said she would go if he could tie her a bowline, pronouncing it bow line, it's actually pronounced "bolin".
