Forty little dogs are stretching their legs after being found living in one home.
According to Katv, forty Chiweenies (Chihuahua/Dachshund mixes) were found cramped inside a condemned home in Russellville, Arkansas, back in February.
The group of hotdog-shaped hounds were taken to Russellville Animal Control, where they are being cared for while their owner awaits trial. Thankfully, the dogs were found unharmed. Vets say the Chiweenies are relatively healthy, albeit with several cases of fleas and missed vaccinations.
The legal issue remains with the number of dogs. The city ordinance of Russellville only allows residents to have four dogs per home.

Excuse the pun, but Hollywood has gone to the dogs. And it’s not the first time. Man’s (and the movies’) best friend has been the hero and heroine of many a flick since the old nickleodeon days. The first canine superstar was probably Rin-Tin-tin way back in the silent era. He was a German Shepherd who rescued human co-stars and even a soon to be major studio (the Warner Brothers might not have survived without his box office bucks). Then came Lassie in her many media incarnations, along with other dogs that provided comic relief from Nick and Nora’s terrier Asta to that Saint Bernard behemoth, Beethoven. With the advent of social media there’s been an avalanche of pet adoration, with funny home videos of dogs taking a big bite out of the bandwidth. This helped fuel last summer’s animated smash The Secret Life Of Pets (primarily dogs,...

We've got a new trailer for The Secret Life of Pets, and Louis C.K. is definitely the star. C.K. voices Max, a dog living a seemingly happy life in New York City, who suddenly gets a "brother": a large dog named Duke (voiced by Eric Stonestreet), who promptly takes over. Max tries to get Duke out of his life for good, Duke retaliates, and both dogs end up being taken away by Animal Control. And then, for reasons not revealed in the trailer, they're rescued by some kind of gang leader bunny named Snowball (Kevin Hart). Meanwhile, their apartment-dwelling pet friends desperately search for them. It's a fun little trailer, but I'll warn you right now: it's got a Macklemore song in it. The Secret Life of Pets comes out on July 8.

The most entertaining animal story since Babe, Shaun The Sheep Movie is this summer’s sleeper for kids and their parents, a terrific and hilarious movie that takes a lot of risks and makes them all pay off. The modelmakers and stop-motion animators at Aardman studios have created a witty, high-spirited adventure literally out of clay with lovingly rendered detail and the same type of visual hijinks that made their Wallace & Gromit shorts such classics.
Shaun the sheep and his farmyard pals at Mossy Bottom Farm have settled into a dull routine. One day, Shaun decides things need to liven up, so he distracts sheepdog Bitzer (clearly from the same litter as Grommit) and traps the farmer in a trailer with the intent of allowing his entire flock to take a day off from their mundane lives. But disaster on a steep hill leads to the farmer being hospitalized with amnesia.

Man Of Steel scribe David S. Goyer may still be reeling from NBC's cancellation of Constantine, but at least he's found another comic book project to bounce back with. Cable outlet USA have given the green light to a small screen adaptation of Idw's Brooklyn Animal Control, which Goyer is set to executive produce. So far, a pilot episode has been commissioned, which will be written and produced by the comic's original creator, Jt Petty. This new Cbtv show won't carry the same focus as some of it's more superhero-centric counterparts. Instead, it follows the inner workings of a secret subdivision of the NYPD that functions as social services for some of the city’s most unique citizens -- werewolves. Delving into the lives of both the Case Officers, and the secretive, highly insular Kveld-Ulf, a community of werewolves living deep in the borough, Brooklyn Animal Control will examine city politics,...
