In this 24 and a half minute(or 25, if you count the end credits)sitdown interview, Spielberg covers a lot. All of it of course from his perspective, starting with the personal impact Kubrick made on him before the two even met - with a couple of his accounts on going to the cinema, and how Stanley's pictures captivated him.

He goes into the tremendous talent of the man, in visual composition, directing actors, choosing the exact right equipment. Yes, Steven has quite a few(well-deserved) compliments for him, albeit, he points out with a soft smile, the late artist always had an easier time giving them than accepting them.

Thus we get a "character study" of him - this is part of why it's interesting to hear from this particular fellow impressive film-maker; many have been inspired by the work, but few shared a deep friendship like this. They would share insights on new technology and "he'd ask me all the tough questions", we are told.

I recommend this to anyone who wants a greater appreciation of the immensely talented man(R.I.P.), as a creator of movie art, and moreso, as a person. 7/10
