Home Run Showdown retreads the old underdog sports team story with a youth baseball team program. This time the clashing Deluca brothers use these kids’ teams to compete for their father’s (Barry Bostwick) bar. Joey (Matthew Lillard) is a washed-up minor leaguer coaching a team of misfits while Rico (Dean Cain) is a washed-up major leaguer coaching a team of winners. They do all they can to take their teams to the final Home Run Showdown competition.
Joey’s ragtag team of misfits is comprised of Lori (Kyle Kirk) who wants to make it to the final round so that his dad will be able to see him on TV in prison; Fassi (Emma-Less Hess) who is an aggressive, no-holds-barred girl softball player who prefers to play hardball; and Tanker (Brandon Balog) who is the overweight kid who never gets picked. These children act more like adults than the adults do,...

You know, Dean Cain really doesn’t get enough credit. Not only is he one of the hardest working men in showbiz, with no fewer than a half-dozen TV movies every year, but his Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993-1997) anticipated pop culture’s current superhero obsession. Tonight, he plays a different kind of hero on Gmc’s A Mile in His Shoes, an intimate drama about a minor league baseball manager who recruits and mentors a young man named Mickey Tussler (Luke Schroder), who has Asperger’s Syndrome—and a killer fastball. It’s the kind of...

Back in August, Matthew Lillard was spotted on the set of the fourth "Scream" movie and then having dinner with Neve Campbell. Many assumed that director Wes Craven will somehow bring Lillard back for "Scream 4" and possibly make him the killer again. I (Alex) had the chance to sit down with Craven yesterday and asked if Lillard is in fact returning. "Our pledge is not to answer any 'Scream' questions, but I'll just tell you," the director replied. "Matthew was shooting something in Michigan where we're shooting. He knows Neve Campbell very well. So he came by to visit and that was that." After doing a bit of digging, it turns out that Lillard was shooting a movie called "Home Run Showdown" around where "Scream 4" was filming. So it looks like Lillard is not coming back, especially since he was killed in the original film.

Update: /Film reader David points out that the actor in question is currently filming a movie called "Home Run Derby outside of Detroit, which you know isn't that far away. I would take it, that two friends just met up since they were in the same area." I'm betting this is the case. Previously, it has been reported that original Scream cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette and even Roger L. Jackson, the voice actor who provides the creepy voice of Ghostface, were set to return for the latest installment Scream 4. Todays rumors spread across the interwebs that another original cast member might have a role in the new film. The rumor could be a portential spoiler, so I'm keeping it after the jump. If you want to know more, hit read more! Ann Arbor (found via: bloody disgusting) is reporting that Neve Campbell and Matthew Lillard...
