Familiarity

I can say without any prejudice that Entourage is my favourite television show. That being said, it's very hard to write an unbiased review or give an unbiased vote based upon the actual merits of the individual episode. So like any warm blooded mammal would, I did the exact opposite.

Deep inside my critical and skeptical noggin was a lot of unanswered questions right from the very start. Questions about Eric and Sloan, Eric and Lavan and about Eric and Vince. Hmm...now that I write that all out in full, I think I see a pattern emerge. So putting aside the fact that E seems to be the central figure in this series at this point, I will continue. I couldn't help but be confused and somewhat disappointed that the series is going to try and squeeze a satisfying ending out of this season; and yet leave so much to the imagination so early. I sense foreshadowing of an "it's all a dream" ending in the last episode, so help us God.

As for the overall feel of the episode, I found it reviting and funny and everything that Entourage has always been for me. Aside from all the loose ends, I couldn't help feel a sense of welcomed familiarity, even though i've been getting the same sense for over 3 seasons now. The compassion is there, the comedy is there, and barring some unforeseen crap in the near future, I'm going to chalk this episode up as just a lead up into greater things. Basically, I'm giving it a 9 based solely on the warm and funny feeling I got from watching a new Entourage episode and watching the guys continue to grow and evolve. However, if this was a show that I had never seen before, I fear my vote would be far less generous.

The Final Season Begins!

Warning: Spoilers
If you have followed "Entourage" from season one up till now, then you would understand that there are three protagonists and 2 or more antagonists. The characters make up the great story of "Entourage" a story about brotherhood and friendship in a world where anyone can get backstabbed.

The protagonists of "Entourage"; Ari Gold, Eric(E), and Vince, play a big part in this show and in this episode each one of them has their own issue to deal with, but the one person who gets all the attention is Vince. I feel like Vince isn't grateful for his friends for worrying about him and his drug addiction since season 7. There was a time where the rest of his "family" should thank him for the money but now its time for him to thank them for their love and to stop giving Eric a hard time.

Eric is Vince's longtime best friend and manager. He is the one person Vince owes to thank for his belief in him and being his best supporter. Eric sacrificed his marriage by taking over the managing company, that he and his colleague Lavin(ex-enemy), took over. The only reason E became friends with Lavin is because of Vince and the company and now his marriage was called off and Vince acts like the "Coke Addiction" was E's fault.

Then there's Ari. Ari Vinces one and only super agent who would skip a meeting for signing George Clooney just to save Vince's career. Ari after doing his job every season is meeting the consequences of not being there enough for his wife and had is heartbroken to find out that his wife was seeing someone else.

So in the end i give this show a 9 from 10 because the show is moving one and changing but it still keeps that sense of brotherhood intact. Other reasons I gave it a 9 is because Vince is making everyone worked up for his return when he doesn't even know it and this include his OLDER brother Johnny, his best friend manager E who's in a slump and can't even focus on signing clients and Ari who's never been the same since th separation.
