A well-modulated Cadence
This romance from Missa X's Allherluv label spotlights Cadence Lux in a strong performance. Often given to overacting, Lux keeps her excesses in check, making for a moving tale.
She's moving in as roommate with Freya Parker, following the dissolution of her marriage. Freya offers her not only sympathy but no-strings sex, not taking these affairs of the heart oh-so seriously as Cadence. Their resulting sex scene is uplifiting to Lux's spirits, giving her a new attitude toward life.
For Part 2, Parker has given Cadence the authority to makeover their home, and Lux enlists beautiful redhead Jayden Cole as her interior decorator. It turns out that Lux always planned a career as a designer, and in yet another confidence-builder, Cole supports her ambitions wholeheartedly, with a hot lesbian sex scene included for the dynamic duo.
This extremely feminine-positive show is nicely performed by all three actresses, and Maddy Burton's screenplay gets its point across without becoming preachy. She also includes an interesting wrinkle by having the characters refer to Cadence's ex-spouse only with the "them" or "they" neutral pronouns, cleverly leaving it up to one's imagination whether she was married to a male, a female or perhaps a nonbinary individual.
