Not bad but needs more bite

Warning: Spoilers
I must admit I only watched this anime series because it can be viewed legally on line; until I saw it listed there I hadn't even heard of it. After watching the opening episode I thought it was going to be yet another school based comedy with plenty of fan service... largely because of a scene where the male protagonist is tricked into going into the girls' bathroom where he sees one of the girls naked; although the censor-steam covers them both from the viewer. It turns out that this was a wrong impression and after that scene there was little fan service apart from the obligatory beach episode. The story follows Kohei, a boy who has transferred to a new boarding school in the town he lived in many years before. He finds himself co-opted into the school council where he is rather surprised to discover the president and vice president are both vampires! The series didn't switch over to horror at this point; the vampires explained that they survived on blood packs rather than biting people; although as time passes Vice President Erika starts to develop feeling for Kohei as well as a very strong desire to bite him and make him her servant. This is clearly expected in Vampire society but she is determined that she will live life like an ordinary person.

While this wasn't a particularly bad series it lacked that particular something that would make it more interesting; there were some decent jokes but nothing really hilarious, there was a hint of danger but no real scares and the characters were fairly standard; on the plus side I was curious to see how Erika would avoid biting Kohei and making him her obedient servant. Over all I'd say this series passes the time and doesn't contain anything likely to offend the majority of viewers so if you want something to pass the time this might be worth watching; at only twelve episodes you won't waste too much time even if you don't like it.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.
