Koko has her first big solo delivery job, picking up timber and delivering it to the paper mill - that is if Old Puffer Pete gets out of her way! In spite of Pete's admonition to 'take it slow and steady,' Koko speeds toward the timber yard, nearlyploughing into a family of squirrels! On her return she encounters the squirrels again - but this time she has to make an emergency stop, spilling her load! Old Puffer Pete chugs up behind her and re-loads the logs onto her car with his crane - which gives Koko an idea. She tells Pete to use his crane to wedge one of the logs between two trees, making a bridge for the squirrels. Now they won't have to make that dangerous journey across the tracks. And Koko's learned an important lesson from Pete - to take things slow and steady!
