  Jon Arbuckle : Gee, could that have happened to Odie?

  Professor Harlow Cranfranz : Of course, it would only happen to a dog who is really and truly stupid.

  Garfield : Uh, that would be our Odie.

• Jon Arbuckle : Sorry to wake you up so late, Professor, but we were worried.

  Professor Harlow Cranfranz : That your dog might be turning into a monster because of the pattern of the moon and stars?

  [looks at Odie] 

  Professor Harlow Cranfranz : I don't think that's possible. Not with such a harmless little creature.

  [Odie barks and growls] 

  Professor Harlow Cranfranz : Although he does appear to be quite stupid.

  Garfield : We had to come to a professor for that newsflash?

• Professor Harlow Cranfranz : Besides, I have to deal with the following alignment of the moon and stars. It may cause an eclipse that will affect cats.

  Jon Arbuckle : Cats?

  Garfield : Cats?

  Professor Harlow Cranfranz : Yes, but not to worry. If it does happen, it will only affect a very small number of cats.

  Jon Arbuckle : Which cats, Professor?

  Professor Harlow Cranfranz : Only the ones that consume vast quantities of Italian food.

  [Garfield starts to turn into a monster and Jon, Professor Cranfranz, and Odie flee the building in terror] 

  Garfield : Heh. I think I'll go see if that all-night pizza place is open.
