David Guy Levy had always planned to be a director, but got sidetracked by his producing career. With several projects under his belt and in various stages of development, he decided to return to his original plan. While preparing a high-concept thriller that could establish him as a filmmaker, he chose to make this experimental, improvisational feature as a formal exercise.
