Four women in different stages of relationship and a taxi? Interesting idea. Writer/director Robin Kershaw and co-writer Matthew Cole have penned down an interesting script. However, I find fault in the execution. The washed out colours and closed shots were perhaps intended to create a gloomy look but the result is dull looking. The director could have made more use of light and the colourful background (outside the taxi). The music adds the much needed energy. The phone conversations themselves don't hold particular interest with the exception of the last one. Kershaw definitely saves the best for last and it rounds up the film brilliantly. The first three actresses, Deanna Leighton, Beth-Louise Priestley and Cicely Tennant do a decent job but it is Francesca de Luca who steals the show with a stellar portrayal of a complex character who desperately tries to hold on to something she's lost. It is her segment of the film and her performance that lift the film up.
