Kate and Justin bicker over who's fault it is they hired a fraudulent contractor to fix the water pipes in their old apartment, which the new tenant now sues them for. Paul Shelton hires Kate to get the rights of the rock band he left's only hit song from the Belber couple, who kept the band going several years longer. Soon she learns the real stake is reconciliation with adolescent son Brandon Belber, actually sired by Paul, who is terminally ill. Meanwhile dealing with gaming fanatic clients requires avatar-assertiveness, approaching David the right public embarrassment.
