As good as it gets

It took this long to find the magic within the core cast. Each member contributed memorable moments. The episode was packed with events around classic HIMYM gimmickry. It was through these events that we were able to learn character quirks that made each of them more likable, which is something the series has been lacking. Not only was it fun to see the transitions, but the overall flow worked well despite the fast pacing. Each character was also assisted by other characters helping build camaraderie between them. And in the end, their efforts brought them together for one final resolution worth the investment.

This was a resounding success in what has otherwise been a middling to below average sequel series. If not for older Sophie's constant presence and over-utilization, it could have earned a 10. I wonder if the cast and crew can find inspiration in that they were able to excel once. If this can become a pattern, the show may be worth saving. At least they've proven they can do it.

A Realistic Review Of The 8th Episode

A pretty good episode!

This episode is an original one and even the word rewardishment works! I liked the whole idea.

Throughout the episode we can see the bonds as well as the funny and cool moments. Everyone has their moments.

I liked the scene in which Jesse and Sophie were about to have a moment and then some mobile notification killed the whole vibe and took it all away which shows how technology can sometimes interrupt your life in a really influential way (at least if you don't disable some notifications!).

One of the best episodes so far! I hope they continue making episodes like this one.

we're getting there...

This perfectly captured some of that essence that we loved in the original How I Met Your Mother. When i started this episode, i didn't know i was actually going to be laughing my a** off. It's one of those episodes wherein the plot involves all of the characters, instead of the split storylines. This makes it feel like we're hanging with the gang, like we're part of it.

The humor is starting to feel more natural. We're getting to know the characters more, which helps with our reception of their jokes and comic. After finishing this episode, i really thought to myself "we're getting there... the show is finding it's footing..."

i hope more people give this show a chance. This episode proved that there's something special here.

First really good episode!!!

I really liked this one. Shows that they could still make it! The game made it interesting and funny. We got to get to know the characters a bit more. It was actually pretty good. Still not as funny as HIMYM but it was the first episode I can say I enjoyed all the way. I have seen every episode and I'm rooting for the show because it's a spin off of one of my favorite comedy series. I hope they do funnier episodes. But do them fast, we don't want to lose you soon! I'm kinda finally getting into the characters. This episode reminded me of the one in HIMYM where they have a bet on who can get to the restaurant first to see Woody Allen.

The fun feeling you get after watching the episode in awe and amazement!! This episode was full of perfectly executed segments. Every characters behavior was shown.

In spite having that warmth of friendship, love and a good story The show is finally feeling like an original.

Every character blended well.

The story of this episode is especially perfect

Nothing ever could come to the original concept of HIMYM But this show is now trying to do there own thing There own concept and story are gonna shine Every part of this show felt beautiful I've been a huge fan since the first day And wait every week to watch the show

Was worth it.

Episode 208

Warning: Spoilers
"Rewadishment" kind of felt part Seinfeld, part How I Met Your Mother, but more importantly it actually made me laugh at times.

In this episode we saw the gang all try to tackle a previous flaw to mixed, but somewhat unsuccessful results. We had our almost reunion of Sophie and Jesse again, but the laughs were there, which too often is not the case with this series.

Not sure what to make of the Hulu original comedy. If they can keep this quality up: a good story and some good jokes, this show could work. If they can't, I fear probably Season 3 will be the end of this show's run and likely the How I Met franchise.

This episode hits all the notes. Im so happy they delivered like this because they had all this potential of resources and talent to make it happen but it was just underdelivering in a way that didn't make justice to its cast and franchise. All the characters have gotten better, in terms of storylines, scripts, and the comedy technique of the actors. Its gotten incredibly better, which I guess a lot of us stuck around to see. I guess this is the season, and the episode you could watch just for it greatness, not just for an actor or for the franchise and nostalgia, but in itself.

-They way the stories intertwine in a complex and funny way reminds me of the greatness of Seinfeld.

-The reward and punishment chosen were original and meaningful to the setting.

-The heartwarming scenes between characters were a perfect complement of all this chaotic joyful 48 hour journey.

-The questions Charlie asks about Jesses goal regards character writing in a way that is parodic and referencial, very meta, and very funny clever writing.

-The tone of the explanation Jesse gives for his choice of challenge is worthy of a Schrute.

-Sid's small burp after trying the first sip of beer, Charlie's sudden violent razor in hand shaking, followed by the barfing sounds while seeing all the blood from his own leg cut, Jesse's "you're nothing compared to a jump rope" anger burst, his impression of Rhonda that sounded completely like Julia Child, Val's "someone come help push the back of my neck"... are just half, literally 10 minutes, of the episode's delightful choices well delivered.

Its as if they wrote the goals and did the challenge bts because they really did make it, just 10 minutes or in this case a season later, but its worth it and well past "good enough".

"Let's go team!"
