Deal or No Deal Island shared a reel of great Boston Rob Mariano moments on their YouTube channel, and everyone started talking about it.
Season 1 of the show is winding down, with only five contestants left to meet the banker, and Boston Rob is the breakout fan favorite.
The other contestants know it, too, since they have all banded together to form the Night Owls group against him and his buddy, Aron Barbell.
Each week, fans comment on social media that the night Boston Rob gets voted off means the end of their watching the show.
When NBC decided to air what they called Boston Rob’s Most Iconic Moments on Deal or No Deal Island, fans thought he was getting the boot off the island.

There is no question now: Deal or No Deal Island, the spin-off of Deal or No Deal, is a hit.
The premise of the new game show is simple: The 13 contestants travel to an island “where they compete in daring challenges to find hidden briefcases worth over $200 million,” according to Rotten Tomatoes.
Some familiar faces among the contestants include Boston Rob Mariano, Claudia Jordan, and Joe Manganiello, the host.
The Survivor alum Rob Mariano, aka Boston Rob, has shared some excellent news about Deal or No Deal Island on his Instagram feed.
The show is in Season 1 and doing very well with its viewer numbers. It earned an additional appearance on NBC and is steaming on Peacock.
Boston Rob also shared that the show is “setting records,” with 24 million viewers watching it on NBC and Peacock.

Rob Mariano, known as “Boston Rob” from all his time on Survivor, has faced many challenges in his long reality show career. Whether he was matching wits against Sandra Diaz-Twine and Russell Hantz on Survivor or traveling around the world with his wife, Amber, on The Amazing Race, Boston Rob is no stranger to difficult situations. Now that he is on Deal Or No Deal Island, he will eventually have to face what could be his most difficult challenge of all. That difficult challenge would be “the banker.”
Deal Or No Deal Is Now On An Island
Many will remember NBC’s Deal Or No Deal from several years ago. The contestants, the briefcases of cash, the briefcase models, and, of course, the banker. This was all filmed on a safe, comfortable television stage. That is not how it is anymore.
Now, there is Deal Or No Deal Island. It is filmed on an island.

Earlier this month, we shared the news that Anchor Bay Entertainment – which used to be a major player in the horror world back in the late ’90s and early 2000s, when they gave DVD releases to films like the Evil Dead trilogy, George A. Romero’s Dead trilogy, the Sleepaway Camp franchise, The Hills Have Eyes, The Car, Maniac, Prom Night, some of the Hellraisers, Halloweens, and much more – is being revived, with their first two releases puppet horror film Abruptio and Dinner with Leatherface, a documentary that looks at the life, career, and legacy of original Leatherface actor Gunnar Hansen. Now we’ve learned that the new Anchor Bay has acquired the North American rights to the horror/comedy Crust, with the plan being to release it sometime later this year.

A 1985 New York Magazine article that first termed the phrase Brat Pack rocked the world of Andrew McCarthy and his co-stars of St. Elmo’s Fire — so much that each of the actors went years, even decades, without talking to each other. As McCarthy says, “actors want to be free of that baggage.”
Not anymore. McCarthy is now behind an ABC News documentary called Brats that addresses how that one phrase captured the zeitgeist and forever altered the careers of then 20-something actors like Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Mare Winningham and Molly Ringwald. Even then, it was not entirely clear who was a member of the Brat Pack.

For a movie that's mostly about how friendships are forever, the 2010 Adam Sandler comedy "Grown Ups" may have had fans wondering about a conspicuously missing face from the sequel. For much of Sandler's career on the big screen, he's been joined by longtime friend and collaborator Rob Schneider. Starting with 1998's "The Waterboy," the two actors have appeared in well over a dozen movies together, from the likes of "Mr. Deeds" and "The Longest Yard" to even an animated movie like "Eight Crazy Nights." Contrary to recent rumors, the bond still seems to be going strong as the two ended up joining forces again in 2017's "Sandy Wexler" and once more in "Hubie Halloween" three years ago. But that hasn't stopped fans from wondering why, after such a prominent role in "Grown Ups," Schneider didn't return for another go-around in "Grown Ups 2."

Jenna Ortega may just have become a household name after runaway hit “Wednesday,” but the rising talent has been in Hollywood for over a decade, starting her career at just 10 years old.
Ortega, who also sings on top of her acting, marked her onscreen debut with a 2012 episode of “Rob.” Just one year later, she played the Vice President’s daughter in Marvel’s “Iron Man 3.” The Disney star appeared in “Little Rascal’s Save the Day,” “Know It All Nina,” “Richie Rich,” and “Stuck in the Middle” before breaking into the horror genre. A longtime scream queen, Ortega’s credits include “Insidious: Chapter 2,” “Babysitter: Killer Queen,” “You,” “X,” and, of course, “Scream” and the upcoming “Scream 6.”

Jenna Ortega has no shortage of acting and personal accolades. Most recently, the "You" season two star has (begrudgingly) won hearts as the queen of deadpan, Wednesday Addams, in Netflix's Addams Family revival, "Wednesday."
But Ortega was a major actor long before her new Netflix role. She earned her first acting credit at 9 years old in the television show "Rob." And then, in 2014, she won fans worldwide with her portrayal of young Jane on "Jane the Virgin." In 2016, she was cast as Harley Diaz, the main character in the hit Disney Channel series "Stuck in the Middle." Clearly, Mickey Mouse is a fan because Ortega also went on to voice Princess Isabel in the animated TV series "Elena of Avalor."

Neil Jordan is a prolific filmmaker. His work has spanned many genres over the course of his career, and he's not a writer-director whose movies can be placed in a box. Where to even begin listing his credits? There's "The Crying Game," "Interview with a Vampire," "Michael Collins," "Mona Lisa," and a movie we spent a good deal of time asking him about, "The Company of Wolves." Now, Jordan returns to the world of noir with "Marlowe."
The filmmaker reunites with Liam Neeson for a Philip Marlowe picture, about the same literary detective character Humphrey Bogart played in "The Big Sleep" and Elliott Gould in "The Long Goodbye." This story is not based on one of Raymond Chandler's hardboiled novels, but Jordan does capture the vibe that defines the character at the heart of those stories. Jenna Ortega has undergone a remarkable transformation. She first began doing national commercials as a kid before making the leap into TV, initially scooping up bit parts on network television. Slowly, those roles got bigger and bigger until her first break came with landing young Jane in The CW's "Jane the Virgin." She suddenly had everyone's attention, and she then entered her Disney era with roles in "Elena of Avalor" and "Stuck in the Middle." Eventually, Ortega was ready to break away and do other things, but worried she would be put into only one box.

Netflix has opted not to renew new comedy series Blockbuster for a second season.
The decision is not surprising. The single-camera workplace comedy starring Randall Park had a quiet run after launching Nov. 3 and never cracked Netflix’s weekly Top 10.

Netflix’s pickup of the series was full of irony since Netflix originated as an underdog movie rental upstart that was almost crushed by then-dominant giant Blockbuster Video before ultimately turning the tables and forcing Blockbuster out of business.

While Violent Night is lighting the box office on fire, there’s another film featuring a Santa with a bit of bloodlust: Christmas Bloody Christmas. Thankfully this Santa is much less friendly and a lot more homicidal. I was fortunate enough to talk with the writer/director, Joe Begos, and pick his brain on this wonderful little title. He talks about how it started as a Silent Night, Deadly Night remake, only to evolve into a killer robot Santa film. This is probably my favorite conversation yet, so don’t miss it!
Christmas Bloody Christmas synopsis: It’s Christmas Eve and Tori just wants to get drunk and party, but when a robotic Santa Clause at a nearby toy store goes haywire and begins a rampant killing spree through her small town, she’s forced into a battle for survival.
The film stars Riley Dandy (That’s Amor), Jeff Daniel Phillips...

FX has ordered a half-hour comedy pilot from Lauren Ludwig.
The pilot is described as a metaphysical comedy about a group of queer twenty-somethings forced by the most unlikely source to confront their generational anxieties and unpack their emotional baggage.
Ludwig is writing and executive producing the pilot. Chris & Paul Weitz of Depth of Field, Andrew Miano, Dan Balgoyen and Aaron Kogan will also executive produce. FX Productions will produce.
The pilot marks the first time Ludwig will be credited as a TV writer. She previously directed an episode of the FX series “Cake.” She has also directed multiple episodes of shows like “Rob Riggle’s Ski Master Academy,” “American Auto,” and “Passive Aggressive History” as part of “Rachel Dratch’s Late Night Snack.” She recently wrote and produced the film “Heart Shot” at Netflix. In the world of live performance, she has written and directed several immersive theater productions.

Since 1933, Mexico has been a major pioneering force in Latin American horror cinema. In contemporary times, Mexican horror has blossomed into a diverse array of horror subgenres including paranormal, art house, independent, social-political, and extreme.
For those inspired to explore what Mexican horror has to offer, this film list is a beginner’s guide to contemporary Mexican horror, featuring films by art-house cinema icon Alejandro Jodorowsky, the Oscar-winning monster maker Guillermo del Toro and Mexico’s tiger queen Issa Lopez.
10. El Gigante
Though the only short film on this list, it’s a bold mix of Mexican wrestling, Rob Zombie, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, with lots of blood and gore. While attempting to cross the American/Mexican border at night via a “coyote”, Armando is attacked and awakens in a dirty blood-splattered room. He is forced to wrestle for the entertainment of a sadistic family with the blood-thirsty wrestler El Gigante.

If you like Euro-crime and haven’t seen this one you’re in for a real treat. English killers are on the road in Spain, executing a hit on a ‘Supergrass’ who’s spent ten years in protective custody. The brilliant cast — Terence Stamp, John Hurt, Tim Roth and Laura Del Sol give the criminal twists extra credibility. The suspenseful show is one of Stephen Frears’ best, and it builds to a highly satisfying conclusion. It’s also the feature debut of Tim Roth, and as such shouldn’t be missed.

Well, this week’s home media releases are a unique batch (probably the most unusual group I’ve seen in the more than 5-plus years I’ve been doing this column), as we only have one new title heading home on Tuesday—Rage of the Mummy from Wild Eye Releasing—and then the rest of the Blu-ray and DVD releases are either repackaging of existing titles or reissued sets, most of them coming from Miramax. In any case, it’s looks like this week is a good time to stock up on some genre titles for the upcoming Halloween season, as there’s definitely something for everyone in this list.

Sasheer Zamata has been seen in numerous TV series including Transparent, Robbie, Inside Amy Schumer and People of Earth as well as the big screen with roles in I Feel Pretty, Sleight, The Outdoorsman and Deidre and Laney Rob A Train. She also released her first perfectly titled comedy special Pizza Mind and co-hosts the podcast Best Friends with her real-life Bff Nicole Byer. Now, the actress and stand-up comedian is tackling the forever-timely topic of wokeness in Hulu’s Woke.
The term “woke” has been very much resonating through conversations surrounding social awareness and racial justice — and these days, those conversations are being had every 15 minutes. In the new comedy created by cartoonist Keith Knight, Lamorne Morris plays Keef who, like Knight, is a cartoonist. He is just living his life and his career is about to hit it big, but when a run-in with the police changes things,...

Oscar and Emmy nominated actor Brad Dourif is set to reprise his role as the voice of the titular murderous doll in the forthcoming Syfy and USA Network series Chucky.
Dourif originated the voice of the character in the original 1988 Child’s Play movie and its six sequels, which are all part of the Chucky-verse. Don Mancini, who penned the entire franchise, serves as the showrunner and creator of Chucky. David Kirschner, who produce the films in the franchise, will also serve as producer of the series. Dourif is the first cast member announced in the series.

Quentin Tarantino has been making the rounds to promote the release of Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood on home video and while speaking to Consequence of Sound, he gave an update on his Star Trek movie, how he almost wrote Halloween 6 way back when and also shared his thoughts on Rob Zombie’s often maligned Halloween films.
Though he hated the first movie initially, the director says it eventually grew on him and now he counts himself a big fan of both, explaining:
“I am a big fan of the Rob Zombie Halloweens. When I saw the first one, I didn’t like it at all. I didn’t like the aesthetic. I didn’t like everything that he added to it and then the last hour just becomes this fast forward remake of the first one. What the fu*k is all this shit? Eight months later, I...

It’s travel time at the vacation wing of the ole’ multiplex yet again. A couple of months ago we explored France in Paris Can Wait, and just a few weeks ago we joined Steve and Rob for a food-filled travelogue in The Trip To Spain. Summer may be over, but it’s not too late to “get away from it all” with another trip….a trip inside your mind. If you’re thinking of “mother’s little helper” then you’re on the right track. Movies about drugs have changed with society over the years. The first flicks were hysterical (in more ways than one) cautionary tales epitomized by the camp classic Reefer Madness. With the counter culture’s rise in the 60’s and 70’s there were more enlightened films like, well Roger Corman’s The Trip. And in the 80’s Cheech and Chong finally took their weed humor...

There are a lot of subjects that don’t find their way to film often, if at all, but sometimes the most outlandish ideas can become brilliant offerings.
How to Be a Latin Lover might not turn out to be one of the year’s best, but the trailer gives us hope for a pretty hilarious film.
The film stars Eugenio Derbez and Salma Hayek, with guest players Kristen Bell and Rob Lowe adding to the ensuing hilarity of a truly screwball premise. Plus, the film has appearances by Rob Riggle, Rob Huebel, Rob Corddry, and Michael Cena, which ultimately makes it perhaps the Rob-iest film ever.
The film focuses on Maximo, a man whose dream is to marry rich and capitalizes on that goal. But now, 25 years later, he’s bored and spoiled, gets one hell of a surprise when his 80-year-old wife dumps him.

David’s Quick Take for the tl;dr Media Consumer:
In posting this review, I might be giving more time and thought to the merits of Beyond The Law, Norman Mailer’s second venture in pursuit of auteurist credibility, than went into the film’s original conception and construction. As the middle installment of three films that Mailer churned out in a brief dabble as a director, we have a companion piece, maybe even an evil twin, to his first effort Wild 90. That film, released in early 1967, records the imaginary, sloppily performed interplay of three seriously drunk gangsters evading the cops as they’re holed up in a dingy Brooklyn apartment. A few months later, over two nights in October ’67, Mailer and the same pals he recruited for Wild 90 (Buzz Farber and Mickey Knox) show up again for another foray into experiential improv performance art, this time as...

“The Magic of David Copperfield V: The Statue of Liberty Disappears” (Episode 8)
Time jumps are a tricky business, especially for a show where every moment matters. And on “The Americans,” you better believe the devil is in the details. So Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields’ choice to jump forward seven months after a particularly tough stretch for everyone’s favorite secret agents was a damn ballsy move — that paid off big time. That being said, the opening of Episode 8 was just as important as its ending, and just as tricky. Comedian and actor Rob Schneider will return to the small screen with an original sitcom, Real Rob, set to premiere on Netflix on December 1.
According to THR, the series has been picked up for eight episodes and will blend Schneider's stand up with an "exaggerated yet brutally honest depiction of Schneider's real life."
Though possibly best known for his work on Saturday Night Live and in Adam Sandler films, Schneider has tried his hand at an original sitcom before. In 2012, CBS premiered ¡Rob!, a half-hour comedy that followed Schneider as a landscape architect with Ocd, only to cancel it after eight episodes.
From Schneider, in a press statement:
"I couldn't be more thrilled to have our audience watch Real Rob on the best platform in the world — Netflix."

Rob Schneider’s got a new show!
The SNL alum produced, directed and stars in comedy series Real Rob! with his real-life wife, Mexican television producer Patricia Azarcoya. The show is an "exaggerated, yet brutally honest" autobiographical look at the comedian’s life and career.
"Rob lives in two worlds, one where he’s the most important person on set, and the other, where he’s the third most important person in a three-person household, after his two-year-old daughter, Miranda, and his younger Mexican wife, Patricia," reads a release from Tricorn Films & Television, who has begun shopping the show internationally. "Patricia doesn’t quite grasp Rob’s level of fame, because when he was getting his first movie role, she was getting her first tricycle."

Our congratulations to all of the nominees.” First-time nominees include Jodie Foster ("House of Cards," "Orange is the New Black"), Cary Fukunaga ("True Detective"), Mike Judge ("Silicon Valley"), Lisa Cholodenko ("Olive Kitteridge"), Michael Wilson ("The Trip to Bountiful") and Jill Soloway ("Transparent").
