Making the Gore for a Slasher
My First Slasher (2011)
*** 1/2 (out of 4)
Highly entertaining interview with special effects artist Matthew Mungle who discusses his work on THE DORM THAT DRIPPED BLOOD. Mungle starts off talking about how he almost declined the job since he wasn't sure he wanted to be involved with a slasher. From here he talks about the original $1,800 budget for the effects and how his main goal was to make sure he did the best he could with what money he had. Overall this is certainly a very entertaining interview as it covers various aspects of the production including the effect that he thought was the hardest to pull off. Mungle also manages to share his views about the film being cut in certain areas and we get a video example of a brutal cut done for the U.K. version. Overall this is a very fun interview that fans of the film should enjoy.
