- Set in a not too distant future, The Mechanics of ID works on many different levels, and stands as a very dark and disturbing exploration into the mind of the criminally demented. However, another aspect of the film serves as a very morbid morality comedy concerning the aspects of adultery and what we sometimes put ourselves through when we fall for the wrong person, for all the right reasons.—Daniel Lassiter
- Social misfit and compulsive shut-in, Stanley Kranston's (played by Andrew Palmer) life is one of routine... Until he meets and falls in love with the woman of any man's dreams, Elizabeth (played by Trisha Yutuc-Strong). Married only a short time, Stanley soon begins suspecting that his beloved has been carrying on multiple sexual affairs with anyone and everyone, and thus, begins spiraling into mass depression... And feelings of murder.
Desperate to find a way to cope with his wife's whoreish nature, Stanley consumes himself in work. This solves his problem for a moment and takes his mind off of what his wife is doing, however, he soon discovers that the long hours at work, grant his cheating wife even more time throughout the day to carry on with even more strangers.
