One late night Peter and Marie, a young couple, drive up to a desolate church in the hope that it's open. Something outside has scared them. Inside the church they discover that 4 other people, an elderly couple Ingeborg and Niels and two younger friends, Michael and Morten, have taken stay in the church, all of them claiming to be lost. None of them seem to want to leave the church - something outside scares them but none of them talk about it. Instead they look at a map in order to try and find the church only to conclude that the church doesn't seem to exist on the map. Gradually the tension between them increases, and when Peter tells a story about a mysterious person who followed them and harassed them out on the country road leading them to seek help in the church, the paranoia and fear hit them. In bits and pieces they all gradually start to remember what happened earlier that night. Something they all witnessed. Something they have all repressed. Something that has to do with a lake and young man.
