Plot: A moderately angry bird named Red (Jason Sudeikis) finds himself forced to take anger management classes. But, when an army of seemingly friendly pigs invade Bird Island, Red winds up being the only bird to get his feathers ruffled by the newcomers – and maybe the only one who can save Bird Island from extinction! Review: It’s confession time folks. I’ve never played Angry Birds. I... Read More...

The Angry Birds need no introduction since we've all played the game, and like me, maybe some of you have deleted it out of frustration only to download it again a week later (and I still couldn't beat the level!).
Now, the app is being brought to life on the big screen all thanks to Sony Pictures and some hilarious and talented voices! Jason Sudeikis plays the permanently angry Red, Maya Rudolph steps in as anger management coach, Matilda, and Josh Gad (you know him as Olaf in Frozen) gets animated again as the hyperactive Chuck. Here's the cool part: to get all psyched-up for The Angry Birds Movie, we kicked-off the film with the cast in the tropical Angry Bird island territory of Maui! (Luau included!)...

Meet Red. In Sony Pictures’ animated rendition of Angry Birds, he’ll be voiced by Jason Sudeikis and no matter how hard he tries, our flightless, somewhat temperamental protagonist always struggles to assimilate with the rest of Bird Island.
That’s a lifelong struggle that takes center stage in the third and seemingly final full-length trailer for the Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis-directed picture. Flanked by his long-time buddies and fellow village idiots, Chuck (Frozen star Josh Gad) and the volatile Bomb (Danny McBride), Red comes to unearth a conspiracy that could threaten to upend the serene tranquility of Bird Island.
When those pesky piggies make shore on his home, Sudeikis’ explosive lead suspects that there’s more at play than a simple meet and greet. And so begins a bright and breezy origins tale involving Red and Co., one which involves literal Angry Birds, riotous set pieces and,...

Between them, Duncan Jones’ Warcraft: The Beginning and Ubisoft’s live-action Assassin’s Creed feature are shouldering the burden of expectation when it comes to 2016’s video game adaptations, and in particular whether they can break the mould. But there’s another project emerging from the other end of the games-to-movies spectrum, and that is Sony’s animated Angry Birds movie.
Transforming Rovio’s flightless avians into a big-screen feature, today brings forth an all-new trailer ahead of the film’s arrival in May. Welcoming moviegoers to Bird Island, the snippet introduces us to the village idiots: Red (Jason Sudeikis), Chuck (Frozen star Josh Gad) and the temperamental Bomb (Danny McBride). Bringing an end to that tranquility are the conniving green piggies, who make shore on Bird Island and immediatley win over the majority of the population, but Red, Chuck and Bomb aren’t convinced.

Take a look @ Sony Pictures Imageworks upcoming 3D CG feature film, "The Angry Birds Movie" based on the mobile game, starring the voice talents of Kate McKinnon, Hannibal Burress and Keegan-Michael Key, directed by Clay Kaytis amd Fergal Reilly, opening May 2016:
"...the movie takes place on 'Bird Island', an untouched paradise inhabited by birds who are naive and innocent, who know nothing of the outside world. They treasure eggs above all else, and are all carefree and easygoing, except for a few.
"One of these birds is 'Red', a societal outcast who has had anger issues from the very beginning. Eventually, his outbursts become too much and he is sentenced to anger management courses, where he meets other misfit birds with similar problems.
"The birds are suddenly visited by green pigs. The birds and pigs quickly befriend each other, but Red does not trust the pigs at all.

Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses) has a temper problem in the first full-length trailer for Sony’s upcoming Angry Birds animation, which seeds the origins story behind the seemingly never-ending conflict between those dastardly pigs and the titular avians that has captured the imagination of an entire generation.
Leaping from touch screen to silver screen in May of this year, animation newcomers Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis are the directors tasked with lending personality to those temperamental – and, crucially, flightless – birds, who have grown into an undisputed global phenomenon with close to 2 billion downloads of the title game across numerous platforms.
But success in one medium doesn’t necessarily guarantee a sure-fire hit in another; outside of the relatively popular Angry Birds Toons, this is the first time that Rovio’s mobile juggernaut will be moulded into a tangible story, replete with narrative and an impressive voice cast. Situated on the...

Bird Island is headed to the big screen, and as promised, Rovio and Sony Pictures have showcased the first footage for its high-profile Angry Birds film, seeding an origin story between the nefarious pigs and the titular avians.
Introducing the various breeds of short-tempered birds, the trailer is but a tease of what to expect from the 2016 animation, as directors Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis look to lend some personality to those colorful sprites that have soared across a billion mobile screens over the past few years. Penned by Jon Vitti, Sony’s CG animation is facing an uphill battle to win over its doubters, and today’s vertical slice is a breezy and vibrant hint of Reilly and Kaytis budding newcomer to the competitive animation scene.
Leading the charge is Horrible Bosses‘ star Jason Sudeikis as Red, a bumbling avian with a temper problem, along with Josh Gad as...

Naysayers be damned, Sony Pictures Animation is pushing ahead with its high-profile Angry Birds film – and now we have the first images to prove it.
Debuting ahead of the full trailer next week, the screenshots are but a taster of the project’s animation style, which is truly something to behold. But will it be enough to dispel any lingering doubts? Unlikely. But one of the main tenets that has us at least cautiously optimistic for the licensed project is its ensemble cast, not to mention the fact that it is being hyped up as an origins story between the devious swine and flightless birds.
Situated on Bird Island, Angry Birds will actually begin in a time when the two factions exist in harmony with one another, and the film itself will chart their descent into full-blown rivalry. Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis are behind the lens for this one,...

On this episode of Under the Dome, "Plan B," Julia tries to deprogram Barbie, Eva finds out some big news, Christine struggles to save the dome and Norrie, Joe and Hunter are betrayed.
Barbie uses his mercenary experience to lead a bunch of townies on a mission to take out a guy who can't walk, two teenagers, a plucky redhead and Big Jim. A bit overkill I'd say. Of course, when they bust into the Aktaion house on Bird Island, it's empty, making you wonder how skilled this guy really is since he didn't do some surveillance first.

On this episode of Under the Dome, "The Kinship," Christine takes a special interest in Junior, Big Jim gets kidnapped, Julia finds evidence that proves Christine isn't who she claims to be, Barbie and Eva grow closer as he and Julia continue to drift apart and Norrie has regrets about her recent behavior.
Big Jim's plan to get out of town was to move across the lake to Bird Island. I know he's got limited options, but it's still a bit of a letdown.

You have to admire the latest reboot from Under The Dome, the show that goes through sci-fi ideas at a rate of knots…
This review contains spoilers.
3.3 Redux
For a few beautiful months, there was hope in the world. Free from the dome, free from Chester’s Mill, life began to take direction. Things started to make sense. All that bonkers business to do with magic eggs and rains of blood was in the past. A future outside the orbit of Big Jim’s ego and beyond the whims of an impenetrable, unending wall of nonsense suddenly seemed possible.
And then? Under The Dome got renewed.
And we, its puzzlingly loyal viewers, were dragged from the gloopy safety of our cocoons and trapped inside for another thirteen weeks.
You have to admire this show’s stamina if nothing else. When it runs one idea into the ground, there are always...

Hello again, Dome obsessives! It’s me again, your fellow human being who enjoys watching TV-vision and is definitely not a Dome. Last night’s episode of Under the Dome continued last week’s trend towards world-building and mythology-dumping, with basically every secret being revealed and a trip to Bird Island, a pleasant little village which is on the exterior of Chester’s Mill but which is unfortunately on the interior of your favorite Dome! Let’s run down the ten most important things that happened last night:
1. There is a caterpillar inside of the Mini-Dome. Joe pointed out that the caterpillar has black,...

Maxine has been a busy little beaver on "Under the Dome," what with organizing her giant "Mad Max"-style fight club and black market area.
Big Jim/Barbie/Maxine
As Maxine says, it's been nine days under the dome. And the missile was, what, a few days into the dome coming down? So it's been, at most, six days since everybody was taking shelter at the cement factory.
So Maxine's been quite the industrious little scalawag in the ensuing six days, charging people goods in order to get into the Cement Factory, where they can trade up by fighting each other. She blackmails Barbie into fighting, but he throws it, which she was expecting.
Meanwhile, while Barbie is investigating fight club, Big Jim is busy investigating Bird Island in East Lake, where he finds Maxine's mom Agatha (nee Claire), who reveals why Max won't deal in prostitution -- because Agatha's...
