A feelgood end to the season
bosporan7 May 2022
Decent story with the ending everyone has been waiting to see.

Nice to see Tim Kang has more range than simply playing Kimball Cho. Despite the plot jumps and inconsistencies, the story is interesting, albeit not original. It remains to be seen how any possible season 5 will handle the 'new normal'.

Save Magnum PI
loyalbe-2045419 May 2022
This is my comfort show, it's so good all around. The cast and the storylines are amazing. But the storylines grab my attention it can be lighthearted sometimes and dark other episodes, it's very well rounded. I heard about the cancellation of the show which upsets me because this is the only cable show I watch. I hope someone sees the potential of this show and renew it.

Outstanding! It's about time the relationship went to the next level. Excellent acting by both Perdita and Jay made it great! Looking forward to seeing what develops next season. Particularly interested in what happens to Gordy and Beth.

Finally
doug2go7 May 2022
It has been 4 years in the making but Higgins and Magnum finally got it together - I just hope it isn't too late to save Season 5.

As for the show itself - it was great - action, adventure , romance and a new baby for Rick and Suzy. This is the first 10 I have given Magnum in 4 years - now it is up to CBS - they have renewed most prime time show as of this date and perhaps were waiting on the Season final ratings - which is what Hallmark should have down with When Calls the Heart season 8 final disaster.

Knowing what I know now
valkyber21 May 2022
I have enjoyed this ride, and felt the 21st century was present but not overwhelming in this update of an essentially escapist piece.

The general arcs of the final double-header were fine and brought closure where it was needed, but I do wish the very last scene were not so blatantly a pick-up shot thousands of miles from the heart of the series. The characters grew as much as mainstream television allows, and the ending was - fitting.

Finally we got Miggins.

I've been watching this version of Magnum since it's release. Show had its flaws of course however character arcs, sweet and bitter moments and general mood of Hawaii kept me going. I do enjoy this show. And I've been waiting for Miggins to kiss since the beginning. It's been 4 years. Also I hope we didn't say goodbye to Tim Kang aka Gordy he is a good actor and Gordy is a good character with a lot of burden however I can see that Gordy finished his character arc, learning that his sister didn't OD but killed and he also looks like have a stable relationship with his son now. Glad they didn't write of Suzy too.

A decent season finale with the ending that we Miggins were waiting for 4 years.

I'm out.

Warning: Spoilers
Not a fan of Magnum & Higgins becoming romantically involved. The, will-they-won't-they, underlying attraction of lead characters is ruined by them becoming a couple. I'm old enough to remember Remington Steele & Moonlighting jumping the shark by making the leads into romantic couples. From this episode forward, Magnum P. I. will become mostly relationship drama. More so than it already was. On Top of that, their kiss at the end was super awkward. So, I'm likely done with this reboot. Back to the Tom Selleck reruns.

Still a solid show
grlym-4684920 May 2022
So far, the show has stayed solid. Kept to a tried and tested formula

I just hope it stays that way. Because it could easily jump the shark like Hawaii 5-0 did with ridiculous "one retired navy seal conquers the world on his own every week' kind of nonsense

Making magnum and Higgins a love interest has me worried though. It's heartwarming to build up to, but once you pull that thread, shows typically fumble afterwards

And they seemed to have backed off the housekeeper is a "Mother Earth " character who can break the law, and try to take the high ground. She is ok as a support character, but terrible when she gets the reigns and suddenly she is a sudden action star.

I liked more TC character development as well. And Rick too

Still a favorite show in its current form.

Hook ups and break ups?
ravmeltt10 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know why people are always anxious to have the leads hook up. I learnt my lesson since the time of Moonlighting with Bruce Willis and Cybil Shepherd. People want what they want and then when they get it they get turned off or bored.

I myself never was pushing for Magnum and Higgins to hook up, and I sense disaster. It never seems to work out and history has proven it time and time again. I wait to see what happens in Season 5.

As for Kasimoto, I do wish that he and his wife get back together, after all he has sacrificed for her. I'm also rooting for Rick and Suzy. I don't understand these women. They have nice men in their lives but they don't want them. Kasimoto's wife don't want him and Suzy doesn't want Rick. What's up with these women? Or maybe it's the writers?

Hope the show returns but I'm not looking forward to the romance between Magnum and Higgins. I might be the only one.

Woooohoo, finally the reboot from hell is over. Yeah! Go for it. This is what you get when you meddle with the original. I know , I lnow fans of this one will be sorry, but us older ones, fans of Tom's finest hour won't miss this.
