The title of this Mitchell & Kenyon movie tells the story. I thought it was a bizarre-looking affair, with some 17th-century folks retreating offscreen, "Indians" who seem to have been dressed from a junk shop appear, and set a banner afire. The defenders appear and shoot the Indians, who seem to be more interested in hopping in place than in firing their long rifles or fleeing.
The film makers have become far more famous for their works showing people round and about their town of Manchester than in fiction films like this one. This was their third film and is credited by Wikipedia as being the first western movie. Since "Buffalo Bill" Cody appeared in an Edison short in 1894, I find that an unlikely claim.
