All the cast and crew worked for free. Shooting could only take place at the weekends as the actors all had 9-5 day jobs.
'Herbals had to be re-written half way through shooting to allow Calum Booth's hair to grow back after his hairdresser mistook his request to "just tidy it up" as "give me a mohawk".
One local person called the police claiming the cast and crew had "blocked his road" with a set of camera tracks that were removed whenever needed. He felt he could not drive the other way up his street as it was too much of an inconvenience to travel 26 yards more to reach his destination of the local shop, that was 200 yards away.
The budget for 'Attack of the Herbals' was £15,000, only £1,000 was spent on the actual shooting of the movie.
The movie was shot on a single Canon 5d camera.
