Nate Meyer’s See Girl Run is the kind of film that fills viewers with a certain joy at the existence of indie movies, and moreover, films directed by people you don’t know generally. Ironically, something of an essay on the extent to which movies don’t know what they’re talking about, and the public’s inability to realize same, See Girl Run maneuvers us through the tricks and traps of love, and does so without ever actually saying anything about love at all (except in one scene, I suppose).
Robin Tunney stars as Emmie. She’s married to Graham (Josh Hamilton), and has been for about five years. The shine of the relationship has worn off a bit, not least showcased by Graham’s curious lack of spontaneity (let’s say) in the bedroom. In the new movie See Girl Run (out in theaters April 26), Robin Tunney plays a woman who can't get a what-might-have-been out of her head: What if she was really meant to be with her high-school sweetheart Adam Scott, who still lives in the Maine town she grew up in? Well, if you thought you had another shot with Adam Scott, you'd head home, too, and so it is that Tunney skips out on her current relationship to go see if there are still some sparks worth rekindling. Once she gets home, does she find Scott to be as enormously appealing as he is in literally every other movie you've seen him in, even the ones where he was supposed to be a dick? She does, dear reader, though with this exclusive clip, you can judge for yourself.

There.s no set date for human beings to hit that point in life where every youthful decision made in the past suddenly becomes questionable, and deep-seated regrets begin to surface. See Girl Run, courtesy of Yahoo! See Girl Run
Director & Screenwriter: Nate Meyer
What happens when a 30-something woman allows life’s “what ifs” to overwhelm her appreciation for what life actually is. Disregarding her current obligations, she digs into her romantic past in hopes of invigorating her present.
Cast: Robin Tunney, Adam Scott, Jeremy Strong, William Sadler, Josh Hamilton
(World Premiere)
Film Synopsis (from SXSW.com)
Who’S It For? It’s a slow-moving film about a woman having major inner-issues with her marriage. There are tinges of comedy throughout.
Overall
I drank a Monster Energy drink before seeing this film. I love Scott. Those two things weren’t enough to keep me alert. It’s tough to find a way in to See Girl Run and I never did.

There's a fine line between delicacy and fragility, between a gentle unfolding and a stubbornly slow series of revelations. That line is what keeps Nate Meyer's "See Girl Run," a midlife romantic drama, from succeeding as well as the great cinematography and talented cast would have you hope. Robin Tunney's marriage is foundering in familiarity in New York; Adam Scott's relationship and life are stalled and stuck in the town she left behind, even as he draws elegant and joyous frogs and caricatures. So she comes home, to see her parents and her brother, and he sees her. And remembers how much he used to love her. And she remembers, too. But love is not memory, and love is not hope.

South by Southwest starts on March 9, and Sundance had better watch its back.
Although Park City's film festival still reigns supreme as America's preeminent independent film event, Austin's SXSW is running a close second. The reason? It's cooler. And we're not talking the temperature.
Unlike Sundance, SXSW is not only a film festival, but it also sidelines as one of the hottest music festivals of the year. And let's face it; Austin's got a lot more going on than Park City. When SXSW isn't in full swing, the city remains a movie lover's haven thanks to the celebrated Alamo Drafthouse, run by indie film's coolest cat, Tim League. Austin also boasts a thriving music scene all year round, and is commonly referred to as the live music capital of the world.

Prior to his appointment as Assistant City Manager on the NBC comedy Parks and Recreation, Adam Scott already has had grabbed people’s attention with roles in High Crimes, Torque and The Aviator, and easily turned himself into a viable action hero in last summer’s Piranha 3D.
He has just seized two roles in two upcoming projects, My Mother’s Curse and See Girl Run.
My Mother’s Curse is based on Seth Rogen‘s character, an inventor who plans to take his mother (Barbra Streisand) on a road trip to try to market and sell his latest invention. He also has a learned motive to rejoin her with a long-lost love. It isn’t known with certainty what role Scott will play. Colin Hanks and Yvonne Strahovski are also starring. Adam Scott is leaving the "Parks" behind and hitting the road.
The "Parks and Recreation" star has joined the cast of "My Mother's Curse," the new road trip comedy starring Seth Rogen and Barbra Streisand, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"My Mother's Curse" chronicles the misadventures of a young inventor (Rogen) who embarks on a cross-country trip with his eccentric mother (Streisand) as he tries to sell his latest product and reunite her with a long-lost love.
Can we just say that Barbra and Seth cast as mother and son is, like, pure genius? The movie can just kind of make itself.
Adam Scott joins a cast that also includes Colin Hanks and Australian beauty Yvonne Strahovski ("Chuck"). Anne Fletcher ("The Proposal") is directing from a screenplay by Dan Fogelman, who knows a thing or two about road trips (with plenty of detours) after writing the script for "Cars."
