Abrams is involved in and is PoI executive producer, which originally began by the producers of Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987). It's found in all subsequent series of Star Trek, as well as many other productions outside of Trek & ones with Abrams involvement. The interest in that number is related to a math thesis from Pomona College.
