An excellent movie that proves that with hard work, and a complete storyline, you don't need a Hollywood budget to pay homage to a great game.

When I first read about this movie being developed by a group of devote fans, I was hesitant. After all, is a complex game, with an equally complex environment. Modeled after the most horrible nuclear disaster in history, is a hard task to recreate "The Zone" faithfully, for it's by definition, as dangerous and desolated as it is rewarding and thriving with (mutated) life. Nevertheless, as months went by and set pictures started popping up, I was amazed as the similarities between the chosen locations and the ones in the game. Finally the day came, when the final product was available for the world to see. The camera work was great, as well as sound production, but costume design is to be highlighted. Faction uniforms and badges are recreated with precision, as well as weaponry which, as in the game vary from group to group. Acting was amazing for people with no (or little) previous experience, which must have been a real challenge, the movie being made by Spanish-speaking crew, when most of the characters speak in English, or Russian. Finally, the game is taken as a heavy handed guide line, taking elements from the official Stalker series stories to create a new one that is both original and faithful to the games. To sum up, a great movie based on a great game, made by people that love Stalker, and as a result are very respectful towards the source material.

A huge shout out to GSC Game World for giving their consent towards using their original IP to the makers of the movie, whose example should be taken into account by other game companies that deal with fan made content in a much more regular basis.

RoyalPredator's Review.

For a low-budget fan-film, the "Monolith's Whisper" is an outstanding piece amongst all the Stalker Fanworks, and not just due its one hour play time, but the feel of the Zone itself.

The locations are very good, the effects are simply good. They did a great work at the load-outs and the little details. All I miss is HD and clear quality, better characters, and even better effects.

I think they should follow the style of "Call of Pripyat". Dark, less intensive colors, rainy weather. And more legendary characters, locations that we saw in the game.

Anyway, I'm waiting for their next project!!

Warning: Spoilers
OK, so i'm not good at reviews. i'm only writing here because how much i love this one. i watched STALKER Monolith's Whisper on youtube the day it came out, and loved it. the movie is about Alexei, a victim of 1986 Chernobyl disaster, moved to America.his brother came to zone, and disappeared. so, Alexei is set to find him. he enters the zone, to find his missing brother, on his way, he finds some friends, enemies...etc i won't spoil it...;) OK, so first of all, acting was superb, the main and supporting actors were all awesome. second, the filming location was like actual zone, & environment was excellent. the action scenes were amazing, writing/story was amazing. overall, a must see movie for any STALKER fan. waiting for next one...

Epic, Awesome, Best Movie Ever - need i say more?

Warning: Spoilers
Best movie i've ever seen, and i mean of all the movies i've ever seen. With a low-budget and imagination, this was created. Although i have to admit, i didn't understand the ending for a bit but then it hit me. It's really awesome and it blew my mind. Ratings:

Special effects - Very well done | 9.9/10

Acting - Just like a real movie, brilliant | 9.9/5

Guns, outfits etc. - The suits are outstanding, from game to life :D, The guns look so real! The Freedom faction was well done, The Monolithians suits looked pinpoint accurate to the suit they wear in Call of Pripyat - 10/10

Overall rating: 10/10 (Because it is over whelmingly good)

It's fan-made and was recorded with a hand-camera but if people donate enough and you raise the money to turn it into a real movie, your looking at one of my dreams come true. Congratz on this epic...well it's so good i can't put it into a sentence. You should consider becoming a movie producer/developer because you and your team have talent.

A great movie , i enjoyed it and i hope a sequel will be on the horizon
matthew-kerr56 August 2012
As a big fan of STALKER i really enjoyed the movie ,as said in the summary i am hoping for a sequel and that its a must see if you like action and the STALKER series or just want to watch a good movie. The movie has great features such as good music , an amazing and deep plot line , a few good twists and can be and is very enjoyable to watch.

The acting on the movie was great i'd give it a 9(or10)/10 plot-line 10/10 characters:9/10 making you feel like you area part of it:10/10 If you are god at guessing you may guess a massive plot twist half way through the movie , if you do this is a shame but it doesn't ruin the movie as there is so much other things in it that is interesting or great to watch.

I loved it !
drk-vador8 August 2012
I really loved the movie.

They really stick to S.T.AL.K.E.R universe. Even though sometimes you'll notice the scene is not set in Ukraine, however this doesn't matter. They didn't just made a movie about a game it's a new story in the universe, and the scenario is really good !

I was really surprised by the length of the movie (an hour!). It's maybe a little too slow in the first part then it takes off and everything's fine.

They did a great work with a low budget. The ratio quality/budget is over 9000 ! Seriously it's a good movie.

You don't need to be a S.T.A.L.K.E.R fan to enjoy it. If you enjoy sci-fi you'll be pleased !

My message to the team is keep up the good work !

A fellow STALKER.

Amazing stalker movie!!!
codysnipple173 September 2012
Its the best low-budget movie i have ever seen and their ever will be made. You can see and feel how much time, sweat and love they have put into this movie. Its truly made by some hardcore fans and they really deserve our love and respect for making this movie! I have watched it several times and still cant get over how well its made! I really love this movie and I'm for sure gonna watch it many more times in the future. Im dying to see a sequel or just a new stalker movie from them. I really hope that they are gonna make another or more. Would be amazing if they would make several more and I'm sure the big fan base would love it as well and appreciate it. The effects, light, sound, location and etc was really stunning! Still cant get over that its a low-budget movie cause it doesn't look like that at all. Keep up the good work and PLEASE make many more stalker movies!

Warning: Spoilers
When I saw the first job, I said that's finally what I wanted to see in the movie version of stalker. It was great. we are making a film on the stalker, and this work is greatly inspired us. In this film a wonderful atmosphere of the zone, her spirit passed to cool, a wonderful story about two brothers. There are many different little things that perfectly complement the film. Not a bad acting. Remarkably chosen style film.Posle movie itself felt like a zone. I think this is what it says. I'd like to see the second part.I would like to see the second part of both old and new characters to the continuation of the storyline. I would also like to wish you success in the future. And of course Happy hunting Stalkers. Your Belarusian brothers Stalkers.

one of the best indie films i have seen in a while
ejobes198 August 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed watching this movie. I thought everything was well done. I hope these guys make a sequel or more movies in general. The setting was superb and the background noise helped create a very eerie atmosphere. The effects looked very realistic and the dialogue was good. I could tell English wasn't their native language but I could understand them fairly well. I also jumped at a good number of scenes in this movie. i give it a 9 out of 10 because while the dialogue was good it was still kind of hard to understand them but as i explained it was still fairly easy to understand them but i had to have the volume up high and i had to have subtitles.
