- Some descriptions, appearances of Phantom are eerie and threatening. Characters scream when they realize the "ghost" of the opera house is near.
- The Phantom's despair and anger over being betrayed may upset some viewers.

- One character is hanged and drops from the rafters in a noose.
- The curtains open to reveal the dead body of Piangi who was strangled by the Phantom
