Crime + Drama = Great Storyline
Ryan Pickett makes his movie debut with a stellar storyline that really shows off his writing skills as well as his ability to capture action and drama in a poetic way. "You Only Loved Me Twice" demonstrates that Pickett can bring out the best of his actors with Michelle Evans actually winning an award at Watkins Film School for best acting for her performance in this film. This is the film that actually got Pickett a top 5 finalist spot in the film entrepreneurship competition The Race to Be hosted by media mogul Russell Simmons at Sony Pictures Studios in Los Angeles, which reveals that it is really worth watching. There's nothing tricky or elusive about the plot which was a criticism some had about Pickett's second film "Look." "You Only Loved Me Twice" shows excellent mastery of the craft of filmmaking. In my opinion, Pickett tried to push the boundaries and do something that people haven't really seen before when he made "Look," which is a little experimental for some people who aren't really movie buffs. "You Only Loved Me Twice" is very unlike "Look" because it has a very clear cut story that anyone can understand, although the visuals of "Look," which was shot on the RED One 4K, are superior to the visuals of "You Only Loved Me Twice," which has more of a film noir feel.
