Touching and funny : Grief reveals the truth about our feelings
shaheenhasan27 July 2020
A great show about family, relationships, and grief from an interesting perspective of a funeral director. Every episode deals with a different case and explores various relationship dynamics. Most of the deceased had circumstances that would normally be overlooked, but Masato (Tomohisa Yamashita) pushes forward to find the truth and provide closure to the grieving families.

At the center is the drama between the Ihara siblings. Each with strong personalities, they have to learn to live with each other again and work together to save their family business. Especially for Masato, he needs to learn how to be an older brother to those he left behind for four years.

Overall it was a great show with interesting stories and a strong central theme. The acting was good and some of the settings were stunning. Fights between the siblings and the banter between Masato and Yuki (Nana Eikura) helps break up the tension and heavy feelings associated with the various deaths. Each character had their own fleshed out story and was executed well. If you're looking for a typical romance drama, this definitely isn't it. But if you're looking for a touching story that goes beyond the usual cliches then definitely give this a shot! Fans of Tomohisa would definitely enjoy this performance, he improved his expressions a lot and it's rare to see him in a brotherly role.
