The series explores the real-life manhunt for Imad Mughniyeh; a Lebanese extremist who evaded his adversaries in the Mossad and the CIA for more than two decades. Mughniyeh was accused of being responsible for Hezbollah attacks during the 1980s and 1990s until he died in a bomb blast in Damascus on February 12, 2008.
The series includes documentary elements with real-life interviews with officials from the CIA and Mossad.
What makes this production exceptional, is that not political issues or action scenes are the focal point of this story, but rather humanism - in particular the tragedy of the loss of human life - exploring the humanity and psychology of all individuals involved in this story.
This production also possibly marks a policy shift, regarding how America wants to present itself to the International Community - such as that the US Intelligence Community is mostly comprised of unpretentious people, of the highest integrity, and that there is also a strong element of human vulnerability in the CIA; as those fine folks are always in harms way, due to the nature of their work.
Indeed, I'm quite sure that many of our colleagues in the Intelligence Community can relate to that - such as the GRU, FSB and MI6 - including yours truly :)
PS: In light of the human tragedy portrayed in these events, we encourage Israeli politicians to make a greater effort to resolve challenges in the Middle-East, by improving Peacebuilding in Israel-Palestine.
On that note, we invite all People in Israel-Palestine and the International Community - including the Judiciary of Israel - to join our anti-apartheid political movement so that Legal Equality and Public Safety can be manifested in one democratic nation - namely the Republic of Israel-Palestine :)
