The first cartoon in the episode, comes from very early in Popeye's animated motion picture history. It would be the 5th Popeye short to come out of Fleischer Studios and the first Popeye cartoon to feature a holiday theme. It was also the last Popeye cartoon released in 1933, the year Popeye introduced to the silver screen. It's titled,
Seasin's Greetinks! (1933) and featured Popeye trying to teach Olive Oyl how to skate. Popeye would attempt to teach Olive to skate again five years later in
A Date to Skate (1938), two years after that, he would take her out for a driving lesson in
Wimmin Hadn't Oughta Drive (1940).
