The production team may credit Steven Knight throughout all episodes as writer, but you just know he was only there for the first season. Season 2 onwards has been just plain out stupid.
This episode is time and again a testament to the awful characters and writing. It baffles me that the show manages to have Tamacti and Baba as the only decent characters with decent character development and the rest is just plainly brain dead. Kofun and Haniwa are so laughably horrible, no one would shed a single thought their way would they be removed from the series. I also, for the love of the god flame, can't understand why the writers are still keeping Sibeth. She is not a good villain. She is just a horribly written character that is out right annoying and the writers somehow have a hard on for the character.
Every time one of the characters apart from Tamacti and Baba is about to do something, you just have to think to yourself: He is not going to do XYZ stupid action, is he? And 87% of the time they will do the stupid action.
I was watching just out of morbid curiosity, since I generally liked the first season. It was not great bad it was a solid start. Season two was partially ok but in general horrible with the bad writing and butchered characters. And season 3 is just continuing the trend.
After 3 episodes I feel that my morbid curiosity has died and I will no longer torture myself with this subpar written show.
