These kind of shows for me are a great way to remember my childhood, and when it comes to toys I really like to hear more about how they became so popular, and remind myself of the ones I may have played with, so I watched this with interest. Robert Webb hosts this show that looks back at the most popular toys that were purchased and played with during the Christmas holidays in Britain, and in some cases worldwide, whatever shape or size they come. Things talked about in the programme are toy cars from Matchbox and Scalextric, dolls and action figures (Tiny Tears, Barbie, Sindy, Daisy, Action Man), alternative and simple toys and what it is like and the importance of playing with toys i.e. how they create joy in your childhood and builds you as a person, space based toys (Johnny Astro, Millennium Falcon and other toys from Star Wars), toy guns and military toy vehicles and other war toys and games, balls (tennis, spinning top, football, football table, Subbuteo), construction toys (Meccano), durable plastic toys (Lego), toy crazes (Trolls, Cabbage Patch Dolls, Yoyo, Rubik's Cube), Christmas dinner (turkey and loads of food, crackers, Christmas pudding), television at Christmas (Muffin the Mule, advertising toys, Transformers), Fuzzy Felt, Spirograph, Stylophone, board and parlour games (Monopoly), and the Teddy Bear. A wonderful trip back to childhood Christmas'

This is one of my favourite ever Christmas programs. Robert Webb takes the viewer on a journey back to their childhood. Lots of fondly remembered toys are featured: Action Man, Spirograph, Meccano, Fuzzy Felt etc. For me, it genuinely made me feel like a kid again, seeing many of the toys of my youth. The narration by Robert is wonderful and adds to the warm glow of sentimentality throughout. By the end I was truly in the festive spirit. I'm really hoping it will be on again one day!
