Sex & Nudity

  • Ada Wong wears a partially unbuttoned shirt revealing cleavage and also wears skin-tight leather pants. When crawling, the camera focuses on her large, clothed buttocks.
  • In Leon's campaign there is a lengthy fight with a naked mutated girl during one of the boss fights. Her features are mutated so no nudity is present.
  • During Leon's campaign and Ada's campaign, there is a video recording of a woman's clone emerging from a pod. She is naked, and a sideview of her right buttock is briefly visible. The thick slime her body is made of covers her nipples, though a sideview outline of one nipple is seen. She falls to the ground, and shadows cover her private parts as the slime begins to take the form of human skin. This scene is more horror-oriented than sexual.
  • In the opening cutscene of Ada's campaign, she emerges from a robotic pod naked. Briefly, her left side-breast is partially seen though shadows cover her nipple area. Her buttocks is also briefly visible.
  • During Jake's campaign, there is a scene where a man and woman are scantily clad in a locker room (the man is shirtless wearing only pyjama pants, the woman has a cleavage-revealing hospital gown). The man briefly "checks out" the woman as she undresses (bare back is seen) before looking away.

Violence & Gore

  • The new multiplayer is the most brutal gamemode because you are battling humans instead of monsters.
  • The game is about bioterrorists trying to populate the world with monsters.
  • Enemies crumble into ash after killing them.
  • The player can shoot enemies with some blood visible. They can also hit enemies with no blood visible.
  • One creature constantly follows the player.
  • One scene where a creature is shoved into a meat grinder. When the meat grinder is turned on, the scene ends quickly so nothing is seen.

Profanity

  • Frequent uses of sh*t, occasional uses of b*tch, damn, jesus christ, a**hole, pr*ck. Four or five uses of the f-word (the majority being in Jake's campaign).

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A main character is seen drinking alcohol at a bar and becomes agitated when the bartender refuses to serve him anymore. A character plays with a cigarette lighter, but no smoking is seen.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some creatures look scary.
  • Sometimes there are brief blood effects.
  • The game is quite old (2012). It does not look too realistic. It is the most light-hearted game in the series and relies more on the side of spectacular action instead of horror.
  • Chris's squad of men become infected with a Bio grenade an antagonist throws and they all transform into monsters despite Chris's attempts to help them. Very emotionally disturbing.
  • During Jake's campaign, the player is chased constantly by a hideous monster named the Ustanak who is extremely difficult to kill and relentlessly attacks the player. Can be frightening and/or frustrating to the player.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The game diverts from survival horror genre to an action-adventure esque. Players have ample amount of ammo, unlike other survival horror games which does have limited resources.
  • A man becomes infected with a virus and becomes a zombie. Very sad.
  • The same man (now a monster) later becomes impaled on a spike (not clearly visible).
  • A soldier's arm is badly injured and becomes inflammated.
