The Bridge Disappearance
claudio_carvalho1 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
When earthquakes happen in several locations at the same time in both universes, the Fringe Division is sure that David Robert Jones is the responsible for the events. Walter explains that Jones is trying to synchronize both universes to destroy them both. Soon they discover that the criminal is using the former Cortexiphan children to achieve his intent. The Fringe Divisions of both universes that if they do not stop Jones they will need to shut-down the former Doomsday Machine and close the bridge, separating both universes. Further, Walter is worried about what might happen to Peter.

"Worlds Apart" is an episode with the farewell to the parallel universe with the bridge disappearing after shutting down the machine. Fortunately nothing happens to Peter and Agent Lincoln Lee prefers to stay in the parallel universe. The motivation for them have a name: Olivia. My vote is eight.

One more episode save by "John Noble" Walter !
nicofreezer20 June 2021
Again and again the same plot about Walter and William Bell experiment of child when Olivia was young, I have heird maybe 30 Times the same line thats why Fringe is not at all a show to binge watch. Because when you dont see an episode for 6 month its not that bad when the writers repeat the same line and the same plot every episode, but when you binge watch and see the same episode with the same line " im like this , Im in pain because of what walter did to us 25 years ago" and Walter crying, how many times have we Seen this exact scene ? 20, 25 times ?

So I was about to vive the episode a 7/10 but ONE MORE TIME WAlTER save the show and give us an emotional moment with Walter ego in the end. So yeah 8/10.

We Know There Is More to Be Done

So things have come to a sorry state as Walter's kids have been employed by Jones. Their damages are his assets as he decides to compress the two universes and start a new one. Do they have courage to separate. Nick, the cowardly little weasel, has a chance to redeem himself from all his internal suffering and chooses Jones, who couldn't care less about him or his peers. This leads to a decision which was never an issue. It's obvious the machine needed to be destroyed. So now what happpens in the series. I assume there will be work in both worlds to put a stop to Jones, but they will not be able to coordinate their efforts. Of course, the hat people are out there in another realm, which we saw in the last episode. Nutso city and beyond.

Bye Bye, Bridge
XweAponX28 April 2012
Warning: Spoilers
David Robert Jones has elicited the help of Several Cortexiphan Kidz to move his agenda along. We've met a couple of them: Sally Clark (Who may have been the person named Susan Pratt/Nancy Lewis in Season 1 - Played here by Pascale Hutton, but in Season 1 by Jennifer Ferrin) — and Nick Lane (David Call).

I do not know if the Sally Clark and Nancy Lewis characters were the same person, both of them had the same Cortexiphan "gift" of Pyrotelekinesis. Nick Lane we also met in S1, he and Sally helped Olivia and Walter cross over at the end of S2. We saw in the season finale of S2 that Nick Lane was known by the Alternate Lincoln Lee.

In S2 we ultimately saw Nick shot and Sally self-combust, causing Alternate Lee to live in a Nanite Regeneration Chamber for a couple of months. But in the Bridge "Verse, they are here and helping Jones. The Alternate Nick Lane ironically seeks out Lincoln Lee, to notify him that he "dreamed" himself causing an Earthquake.

Walter pieces together what Jones is doing, that Jones is using one set of Cortexiphan kidz to resonate with their Alternates and thus bring about the end of two universes: and both Fringe teams unite with one chance of finding Jones. Or else Peter has to close the Bridge to keep Jones from finalising his plan.

This episode is mostly bittersweet because we know that this will happen at the end of this Episode. Jones has proved to be one elusive b$#$#%. Jones lied to the Cortexies to get their help. As much as I may want to try to understand Jones, as pleasant as he appears: he is inevitably Slime.

In a way I have been waiting for this Episode all season: I'd hoped that with The Bridge in place there would have been more episodes with interaction between the two. It is great to see Walter and Walternate, Olivia and Fauxlivia, Astrid and Alt-Astrid, Broyles and... Well Foeyles is in Jail so he was not there. All side by side for the "last" time. And Walter/Walternate has a tryst with him/themselves, which was great acting on the part of John Noble who makes us believe he is two different people.

I'm glad the characters ended on this note: Will we see them again? Will they ever stand Side by Side again? Not in the Bridge room.

But there still exists ways for people to cross over, and we can be sure Jones has no problems using them. And of course, Livvie's natural Cortexiphan Talent is that of crossing over. And it did occur to me, that this smells like a Trick of JonesJonesJones
