A potential skippable episode

Warning: Spoilers
A clever episode this one in the sense that it looks into the back story of the characters (how Emily began her revenge, how David Clarke met Victoria etc).

With pace building in the normal narrative of the show though you do feel a bit short changed with this episode, as it's not what you were expecting, and its one i'd probably skip next time I went through S1 on the DVD.

Nice to see all of the people that Emily has used the red sharpie on return though.

very different episode
RavenGlamDVDCollector12 April 2017
This episode differs from what has gone before as, almost in its entirety, it delves into the back story of the main characters. No voice-over by Emily this time. It returns to the present only in the last scene. As such, the youngsters, Christa B. Allen, as Charlotte, Connor Paulo (as Declan) and Ashley Madekwe (as Ashley) had some time off, and that cut into the interest for me, because Charlotte's my favorite. Former supermodel Amber Valetta's back, these are back-flashes after all, we see the start of the affair Conrad has with Lydia. For the most part, this episode is about the New Year's Eve party held by the Graysons on 31 December 2002, and it is a gathering of all of Emily's targets while they were still at the zenith of their transgressions. Evil henchman Frank is there too, taking care of a perceived weak link.

Essential to the story, okay, but I sure missed Christa.
