Getting the perfect Santa photo is often a Christmas miracle and something parents everywhere struggle to achieve — Hilaria Baldwin included.
The fitness guru, 33, shared a photo of her family’s holiday photo shoot with Santa Claus on Instagram Wednesday, but it was far from the smiling portrait she had hoped for.
The mother of three (soon to be four!) did not get her Christmas photo, but she couldn’t help but poke fun at the photo by giving insight into what her family members were doing in the moment — including her husband, Alec Baldwin, 59.

J.J. Watt – and the rest of southern Texas – were on the receiving end of a Christmas miracle.
The Houston Texans defensive end shared a heartwarming video of himself excitedly talking about seeing snowflakes in Houston on Thursday.
Stepping outside of his home, Watt smiled into the camera, saying, “When I got drafted by Houston back in 2011 I was sure that I was never going to see this day. But the day has come.”
“I don’t know if I could possibly be more excited,” he continued. “It’s not quite sticking to the ground but… we have snow… in Houston!

Holiday episodes are rarely a show’s best, but they’re often the most enduring. CBS still airs a colorized version of the “I Love Lucy” Christmas episode, repackaged as a perennial special, 60 years later. The image of The Fonz eating out of a can, alone on Christmas Eve, is probably one of the best-remembered scenes from “Happy Days.” And “The West Wing’s” 1999 episode “In Excelsis Deo” not only won an Emmy, but its takes on homeless veterans and hate crimes are just as relevant today, nearly two decades later. And of course, it was a Christmas episode that launched the longest-running scripted series in primetime, “The Simpsons,” all the way back in 1989.
As the networks more wholeheartedly embrace the holidays as a marketing tool, there has been an explosion in Christmas-themed movies and specials in recent years. But there’s still something special about celebrating the holidays with...

Here’s the only plausible explanation for “Pottersville,” a nearly unwatchable — but inexplicably star-studded — new Christmas comedy which is making a brief pitstop in select theaters before spending the rest of eternity in the storage room of your local Walmart: A veteran producer at the Hallmark Channel was at the end of his rope (for the purposes of this hypothetical scenario, let’s pretend said producer was “Pottersville” director Seth Henrikson, whose sparse IMDb credits leave plenty to the imagination). Frustrated by a career spent churning out festive — and weirdly horny — shlock like “A Very Merry Mix-Up,” “Matchmaker Santa” (featuring Lacey Chabert), and “A Boyfriend for Christmas” (the story of an infatuated girl who wastes her 20s waiting for Santa Claus to come down her chimney), he finally broke.

It’s only been a few short weeks since Winnie the Pooh got the “Shakespeare in Love” treatment in “Goodbye Christopher Robin” — a film that inspired this critic to lament that “we used to tell stories; now we just tell stories about how we used to tell stories” — which means that we’re already long overdue for another saccharine period fable about the creation of another literary icon. Enter Ebenezer Scrooge, who came to Charles Dickens at a moment when both men were at a low point in their lives.
The year was 1843, the great author (a manic Dan Stevens) was 31, and his massive fame was ebbing in the wake of three consecutive flops. With the winter settling in and a certain lifestyle to maintain, Dickens was in desperate need of a Christmas miracle. There was only one problem: There hadn’t been a Christmas miracle in almost 1,843 years. You see,...

It’s the six-months-to-Christmas miracle some readers have hoped for! The news site Salon announced Monday evening that it will offer a “Trump-free Tuesday” on June 27, when it will not publish President Trump’s name or picture for a full 24-hour period. “We will not cover his outrageous Twitter utterances or deride his surrogates for whatever stupid things they may or may not say on television,” the website’s editorial team explained. It is unclear if by “surrogates,” Salon meant other White House personalities — such as Vice President Mike Pence or Press Secretary Sean Spicer — or members of the Trump family.

A Utah mom battling breast, lung and bone cancer is finally home with her family for the holidays.
Kim Power Stilson, who has been using a wheelchair since August, never thought she’d be able to spend Christmas in her two-story house in Orem. Because the structure did not accommodate her wheelchair, the 52-year-old had been staying at a friend’s accessible house with husband, Chad Stilson.
But in December, the mother of three got the surprise of a lifetime when hundreds of neighbors, friends and family surprised her with a renovated home — complete with a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor.

Dread Central is hoping for a Christmas miracle.
The popular horror site has launched a crowdfunding campaign to save it from closing its doors in a move it is describing as a "Hail Mary."
The site is asking readers to donate $1 a month via the crowdfunding platform Patreon, and it needs about $7,000 total a month to cover operating costs. So far, the horror community has rallied behind the site, with John Carpenter, The Walking Dead producer Gale Anne Hurd and dozens of others lending support.

Casey Affleck made a point in his monologue tonight on Saturday Night Live that the Christmas episode is usually hosted by someone more famous than he is. And while it's true that more people probably know Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Jimmy Fallon, "fame" in and of itself isn't really an important factor in making a great SNL host. With the show's ratings doing very well this fall thanks to Alec Baldwin's Donald Trump, the show can take chances on hosts that may not be A-list celebrities.

Last Week’S Review: ‘Saturday Night Live’ Review: America, Are You Not Entertained By John Cena?
What a long, strange, undeniably nightmarish trip 2016 has been. And “Saturday Night Live” knows it. Continuing in the tradition of excellent holiday episodes, last night, “SNL” brought the Christmas cheer and political heft we needed to remain optimistic about its future. Not our future, of course – we know better — but at least the future of “Saturday Night Live.” Guest stars abounded, but were never over-used; God herself sent Chance the Rapper down from heaven to periodically bless us throughout the night, and Update was legitimately funny. A biting, unapologetic episode, not unlike Chappelle’s from earlier this year. Finally.
Host: Casey Affleck
Casey Affleck: Batman’s brother, Oscar nominee, and probable creep. Why was he tapped to host the Christmas episode? Apart from an awards season push for “Manchester By The Sea,” he doesn’t know either.

Despite being fronted by the bland Casey Affleck, Saturday Night Live closed out 2016 with an episode that fired on nearly all cylinders.

The Manchester by the Sea actor made virtually no lasting impression during his hosting debut, save for a mildly amusing Dunkin Donuts commercial that came directly after the monologue. We all hope to see at least one Christmas miracle in our lifetime. To see two miracles is something special. That’s exactly what the midseason finale of MacGyver hopes to accomplish going into the holiday season. What would the holidays be without family reunions and family drama, right? MacGyver’s well-equipped to handle most international incidents, natural disasters, and armed invasions. When you put MacGyver in the middle of his colleagues and expect him to mediate, expect plenty of uncomfortable moments on the way to Peace on Earth. ‘Tis the season for a holiday drama on MacGyver Season 1 Episode 11.
Even people in Los Angeles are dreaming of a white Christmas – especially Riley – who confides in Bozer that she doesn’t have good memories of the most wonderful time of the year.
As Bozer is trying to get her into the holiday spirit, she receives a text and disappears.
Something in that text made her run.

Thornton calls the team to the Phoenix Foundation, where she tells them that someone has hacked into Nsa and leaked a fake intel memo outlining a planned attack on the Chinese.
Their main suspect? Yes, it’s that Scrooge Riley, who was already sent to prison once for trying to hack into the Nsa.

Tyler Ritter may have just experienced a Christmas miracle. Earlier this week, the Arrow star endured something no happily married person wants to deal with: Yes, he misplaced his wedding ring. "If you ever lose your wedding ring in a grassy field, get used to looking at this…" he shared on Twitter when holding a metal detector. "I'll be back in the morn." When one fan asked if this is worse than dropping your keys down an elevator shaft, Tyler was quick to keep it real. "This is worse," he added. "But a woman pushing a cart nearby at one point said, 'hey kid' and tossed me a nickel which was very nice. #Silverlining?" Don't...

"Oh, god," the older gentleman seated behind me at a screening of Office Christmas Party groaned as Ying Yang Twins' 2008 seminal holiday classic, "Deck da Club," blasted through the speakers over the film's opening titles.
It does seem like that song choice alone would tell you everything you need to know about this simply titled film, about a struggling firm that sells...computers (I think?) and the "nondenominational holiday mixer" they throw in an attempt to land a big deal and save their branch from being shuttered by their menacing, money monster of a CEO (Jennifer Aniston).
You might get a better idea of what this movie is, though, knowing who everyone plays: Jason Bateman plays Jason Bateman. Aniston is Horrible Bosses: Grinch Edition. T.J. Miller is the frat boy boss and Olivia Munn is a computer engineer hacker. Jillian Bell is a pimp with a mood imbalance and Kate McKinnon is like a standout...

If The Tall Man kept a Christmas tree in a quiet corner of his mausoleum, he might have hung Sentinel Spheres on its branches (when he wasn't busy tormenting Mike, Jody, and Reggie), which is something that horror fans can do in future holiday seasons now that Mondo and Middle of Beyond's Phantasm ornament is available to pre-order (with an estimated January shipping date).

It takes a special type of movie to make viewers simultaneously more smitten than they've ever been, and jealous enough to break the television in half. Ladies and gentleman, meet The Holiday. Nancy Meyers, the creative genius behind this Christmas miracle, has long been Hollywood's arbiter of the good life, giving us screen envy in everything from The Parent Trap (can we have Elizabeth James' life, or at least her London row house?) to Something's Gotta Give (we'll take one of Diane Keaton's fictitious career, please) to It's Complicated (we don't have to tell you that we're lusting after that bakery in Santa Barbara). Call it a sign of the times or a sign of the movie’s lump-of-coal sensibility, but in the third feature from writer-directors Will Speck and Josh Gordon, the Christmas miracle is — drumroll, please — internet connectivity. That might have packed a zeitgeist punch, but Office Christmas Party hasn’t the slightest satiric edge. Pitting a big-hearted boss against his Scrooge of a sister, it’s a frenetic grab bag of strained shtick, however expertly delivered by ace comic performers.

Something bad happened on Christmas Eve.
For the Pearson family on This Is Us, Christmastime means coming together, but on Tuesday’s dramatic fall finale, they also experienced an unexpected tragedy. For much of the episode, the old family adage that “nothing bad ever happens on Christmas Eve” was repeated time and time again -- first by Rebecca (Mandy Moore), then by Randall (Sterling K.
