Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • No matter what path you choose, two people are killed in an incredibly gruesome fashion. A bomb in their small intestine explodes, ripping a hole in their abdomen and splattering chunks of gore everywhere. This is described in great detail, but not shown.
  • Sub Ending: Junpei is stabbed and then drowns. Other characters are stabbed as well Knife Ending: Junpei is stabbed to death, as are a couple others Axe Ending: Junpei and three others are killed with an axe.
  • Safe ending: One character is stabbed, and two others burn to death in an incinerator, one of whom is shot multiple times.
  • It is revealed at the climax that Junpei's childhood girlfriend, who has seemingly been on the boat with them the whole time, died nine years ago in a fire, and that the game is being played from her point of view. She has the power to see into and alter the future, and she is manipulating Junpei to help save her life. This leads to the realization that Junpei has not reunited with her and most likely never will. If an incorrect path is followed, she will fall deathly ill and vanish, as she cannot logically exist within that turn of events.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • In flashback, we learn that a group of children were kidnapped and forced into life-threatening situations, with one having died as a result.
