Programing directors of the FilmOut San Diego Festival choose one film from each year's festival to receive the "Freedom Award". This award honors movies that "inspire our community or make a profound difference in our lives"- FilmOut San Diego. Festival programmers chose Raid of the Rainbow Lounge as the Freedom Award recipient in 2013.
At the LOC's invitation, the Library of Congress screened Raid of the Rainbow Lounge on September 30, 2014.
In 2012, Raid of the Rainbow Lounge screened during the inaugural LGBT Pride Month Diversity Program for the Office of the U.S. Attorney (Northern District of Texas). The presentation was broadcast to their offices across North Texas, where staff learned about the raid and issues related to LGBT equality. U.S. Attorney Sarah Saldana and Fort Worth Police Chief Jeff Halstead joined Director Robert L. Camina for the screening.
