Overall a good season! Was not expecting the series Finale to end on a cliffhanger though! Oh well, that's that! I Hope all goes well for Christina Applegate !One of my close friends is in a similar medical situation! Hope they will find a cure for this devastating, debilitating disease!!Also hope we will see Chrstina Applegate do more work,I know it will not be easy under the circumstances! I know it must have not been easy to finish the series under the circumstances, for that we are grateful to Christina Applegate! And congrats to her for getting that much deserved Star on the Hollywood Hall of Fame !

Going out on your own terms

Warning: Spoilers
A satisfying end to a roller-coaster journey with all of the ups and downs, twists and turns we've come to expect, enjoy, and relish with this series.

Dead to me started off as a "Who done it" and somewhere along the way turned into a "There's no one else I would've done it with" love story about friendship, trust, and love - those "Ride or Die" bonds that transcends logic, love, and in this case the law.

There's a bittersweet to this season and this end because as we rejoice that our girls have come through it, we realize the price, the goodbye, and the grief we're left with - along with just a little hope.

A series finale that was well worth the wait.

This episode felt more like a season finale than a series finale.
Laqshayaroraofficial21 November 2022
Overall season 3 review: slightly better than season 1, but not as awesome as season 2. They should have made it a fun season rather than trying to make it unnecessarily emotional. I don't know why they ended it on a cliffhanger when they all knew that this was the finale season. It doesn't make any sense to end it that way. The storyline of season 3 is cleverly written, but it would have been better if the final season was funnier than emotional. This season is good but inconsistent; sometimes it's funny, other times it's nonsense and emotional. Although it's a good season but I waited so long for the final season that I am not entirely satisfied with the way they ended it all. 9th episode is the best of season 3 and Judy's character was my favourite.

For those that don't understand why they had to finish in 3 seasons
DantiMovies15 December 2022
Unfortunately Christina Applegate was diagnosed with MS during the production of the 3 season and the show was forced to end early.

EVEN THEN! The director and amazing acting made this season a really good wrap up.

The 3 season shows us the truly amazing relationship that Judy and Jen had.

Please don't judge this ending too quickly without realizing that with all difficulties they managed to deliver a wonderful last season and excellent wrap up to the entire story.

Let's not focus on what was not said but what was showed.

I honestly hope Christina and Linda get nominated for their remarkable performance.

The end

Warning: Spoilers
I lost my mom this year to Covid and my sisters cannot even watch shows like this one because it just makes them breakdown and cry missing our mom. I didn't think I was like that...I've watched shows that are somewhat sad and I don't think about my own real feelings while watching...until I watched this. It's Christina; she is so great at acting in both her comedic and dramatic scenes that it just feels so real. When she looked at the empty chair while driving I lost it. I'm writing this the day after thanksgiving and now watching this show, the pain of seeing that forever empty chair is a real thing. And being happy after someone you're close to is also real but that pain from grief will always be there...it's like living a different life. Things don't get better they just get different after losing a loved one. This show was so great and it really captures the reality that a lot of ppl face in their lives. I loved Judy's spirit...I loved Jens spirit more tho. She was strong, she knows how to keep going for children while still keeping her best friend in her heart. It's just a great show is all I can say.

Great

Such a sweet ending. So sad but so well done. I'm going to miss seeing Christina on the big screen, she is honestly amazing. Coming from her comedic unsavoury reputation as an actress in the 90s to this transformed serious actress we see now. I loved how this series ended, you could argue that they should/could of given it a happier ending but as we all know, life isnt always like that. We all loose something, somewhere. Some great acting from everyone involved, well filmed, good editing, scripts were perfect. It was good to see they kept the comedic element flowing throughout this series considering how serious it got at times.

Overall a brilliant show. They did not let it drop this series which I think is amazing considering the conditions they unfortunately filmed under. Humanity prevails ! 10/10 from me.

Episode 310

Warning: Spoilers
I am not the only one that thought Dead to Me went off the rails a bit in its final season, but I thought we got an okay series finale here tonight. They hit the right notes with Judy's downfall and how they didn't have the perfect goodbye for Jen.

They also teased tension with Jen and Ben in the final scene and I like shows doing that, setting up a potential future season even when we know it is over. I feel like that this is the better strategy for fans than wrapping everything up with a neat bow, but some probably disagree.

Could it have been better? Of course, but I'm appreciative of the ride this show gave us.

Give it 6 because of the first 2 seasons
biloute_7411 January 2023
The first 2 seasons were unbelievable, witty, funny, a twist at the end ofbeach episode but season 3 totally destroyed the 2 first seasons turning it unfunny, dark, no more twists , what a disappointment season 3 has been.

I gave 8 or 9 to most episode of the first 2 seasons but couldn't get past 7 for season 3 and even went down to 6 and 5.

Did they change writers again whom destroyed a perfectly great show?

I know Christina is ill but still, why totally change the tone of the show??

Perhaps season 3 shouldn't have happened....

I think it would have been best to not make this last season.

Review of the Final Season
TheFearmakers22 November 2022
This was a great show for the first two seasons because it was about two women (and two men) and a crime being hidden... Like Breaking Bad (but not as great, of course) it was tethered to this plot-line for urgency and suspense...

But somewhere along the line they dropped the secrets, and Dead To Me became an internet-era version of Laverne and Shirley (despite the girls comparing themselves to The Facts of Life)... and that's not bad either because Linda C. And Christina Applegate share terrific chemistry...

Until this season, which is really a mash-up of dangling story-lines not important enough to cover when the show was at its peak, and, with the same super-quick sarcastic jabs, now at lightspeed, the characters are, ironically, slowed down in the process, discussing more than actually doing... this includes the female cop, who previously wasn't sarcastic or neurotic at all (which was needed)...

And what they wound up doing to one of the girls, making the last few episodes a cross between Thelma & Louise and Terms of Endearment, is a real shame, an easy out, a means to a melodramatic end.

awful and so unrealistic
danaheather5012 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed the first season of this show. I thought it was clever and different. The 2nd season got a little absurd with the twin showing up out of the blue. The 3rd was just too much. Why is Perez letting Jen get away with murder - literally! Then I had hope that Nick would take care of things - but he lets Judy go to the trial. Doesn't anyone follow up on things? Wouldn't the ankle bracelet go off when they took it off? Then, why is the FBI agent letting Jen into his hotel room and eating something she gives him? Are they mesmerized since these women are pretty and wealthy? Then Judy disappears in Mexico- presumably dead. I would hope the police would attempt to find her - but I'm guessing she drowned. What happened to the car they drove to Mexico? The mustang still runs after being in a garage for a couple of years? I know with TV you have to suspend belief - but this just really annoyed me. Too many loose ends. Too annoying.

Same old cliche
LDSjess31 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Two women meet and become best friends. The bonds of the friendship are tested when one of the friends develops a terminal illness. The dying friend spends the last days of her life in her favorite place with her best friend. The surviving friend has to figure out how to adjust to a new life without her best friend, while finding ways to keep her memory alive. Sound familiar? It should. It's the plot of Beaches, Fried Green Tomatoes, and countless other best friend dramas.

Up until season 3, this show managed to established a series that was different from the typical best friend drama. When Judy received the cancer diagnosis, I was really hoping this show wouldn't go in that direction. I held out hope until we got to the last episode when I realized that this show chose to follow the same old cliche. If you've seen Beaches, you've seen season 3 of Dead to Me.

One of the worst seasons of any show ever
terrylarosa18 February 2023
The first two seasons were good but this season was literally awful. The show fell to the curse of many good shows have an awful last season. It's taken us 3 months to finish it because it was almost unbearable to watch. Made it to the end just to see what happened. And what happened was some of the worst writing ever gone. 98% of the jokes fell flat and the dialogue with the two women sounded ridiculous most of the time. A comedy is supposed to be humorous correct?? Naming the baby girl Joey was as disturbing as the whole season was. It's a shame because the two actresses are talented but they couldn't pull of the wretched writing. Awful.

The series final episode rivaled the awfulness of the last episode of Lost
mom-6208922 March 2023
I enjoyed most of the episodes of Dead to Me, but the series finale was awful. It made me regret having ever watched the whole three seasons of the show. Just thinking again about the finale makes me angry. The ending was depressing and actually didn't make any sense. The creators and writers knew that this was the SERIES finale, but the last episode was written as if there was going to be another season. One character's storyline was wrapped up, but the storylines for the other main characters were left hanging/up in the air. Honestly, writers, why did you write the last line of the show? The last line of the series negated investing any time into the show at all.

Nothing redeemable about this awful show.
m-4782613 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I can appreciate the actress honoring her contract, but this third season was probably the worst. It was so melodramatic and stupid, with its row of unbelievable twists, to get to Jen getting away with murder, and Lucy rotting somewhere in the middle of the ocean, that it ruined the series as a whole. Blaming the greek mafia for all of the heroine's crimes, was the tackiest cop out I've ever seen in a Netflix series. Even a ten year old wouldn't believe the FBI fell for that. And why the stretched out runtime? Why didn't they just end the episode with Jen driving the car into the sunset. To avoid cliché? Don't worry, even a cliché ending would've saved the one we got, in which the heroine calls her daughter Joey, in case she's gender fluid... And what if she identifies herself as a tree? Did you ever think of that? That's so offensive against tree lovers...

Get offended people, it amuses me.
