It's so sad to see how parents really mess their children up. Alex's father was a class A loser and abuser! It's no wonder she turned out the way she did. There is some sympathy to be had for her to a certain degree. I cant be completely sympathetic because she actually murdered someone!!

I have been enjoying this series and I am becoming increasingly curious to see how this will end and to see whodunit. Until this episode I was believing that she was still alive because quite frankly at this point you cannot put anything past her. Her mental state was really out there. Especially seeing how she enjoyed getting her butt kicked by Dan.

It may be considered a bit slow by some but I enjoy the pace and the slow unravelling of the story.

Nice Background on Alex and the Trial Starts

The episode starts with Alex's childhood experience. Let's just say her father was not the best husband/father and that explains a great deal of her connection with men. Then we get some of Alex in law school where she isn't a good person and her father continues to screw with her head. There is also some more recontextualizing of a few phone calls Alex had received previously, which was interesting. The other part of the episode is about Dan's first trial (they did find a body), which is just stated off hand during the trial, which I thought a little odd since a theme throughout the series has been trying people for murder without a body. The rest of the trial plays out as expected but the big picture is the Dan is not a good guy, he lies his butt off and then has his young daughter testify. And I forgot to add last episode, I am wondering if they are setting up a Presumed Innocent finale. We shall see.
