- A documentary about the member of the brazilian Communist Party, Congressman elected by vote, and later on enemy number one of the brazilian dictatorship of 1964, Carlos Marighella.
- The documentary shows the life and death of Carlos Marighella. Son of an italian immigrant with a black woman daughter herself of a slave couple brought from Sudan (the Hausas), Marighella have an economic poor childhood in Bahia, where he iniciated his studies with such a love for poetry and for math, that he answered geometry questions in verses. In the late 30's he ingressed in the Brazilian Communist Party (PCB) and moved to Rio de Janeiro, where he will soon assume important places in the Party. In 1936 he was imprisioned and tortured by the dictatorship of Getúlio Vargas, in the island prision of Ilha Grande he organized gardens where food was produced for the prisioners and the rest of the island population and a school to teach the prisioners portuguese, math and even phisics. With the end of the dictatorship Carlos was released, and could run for the first brazilian election pool since late 20's. Two PCB members were elected for the Congress that make the Brazilian Constitution of 1945: Carlos Marighella and the writer Jorge Amado. But soon enought the brazilian liberal democracy would consider PCB illegal, and Marighella lost his political right of representativeness. The political scene radicalized over the next years, and in 1964 a Coup D'Etat was implemented in brazilian ground. As an asnwer for the brutal repression organized by the military coup, Marighella initiate the armed resistance in 1967 with his new found group, the National Liberating Action. In 1969, victim of an ambush orchestrated by the facist regime- that got the information of where Marighella would be throught the torture of catolic church members of São Domingos order, Marighella was murdered in São Paulo.
