So hardcore!
mateo13027 October 2012
Honestly I started to believe that the directors and writers have used all of their gunpowder and this season will be such a compulsory and overwrought final which is made to end the story. Luckily this is not what happened here... After these little bit sleepy episodes this one will hit hard and solid. Continuous gunfights make it more intense and the ending is just great and moving although experienced "series junkies" can easily guess what is coming. Finally they have started to use those gadgets from the past which is something I have been really waited for. I am really curious how the events in this part will affect the the other episodes and how it will affect the character behaviours. Waiting for the next one!!!

Antimatter, Matter, and Men without Faces
XweAponX27 October 2012
This was worth waiting two weeks for. Peter is waylaid by a nosy Observer. He barely gets away. Windmark and Broyles seem to be cracking down on Resistance agents within the ranks of the loyalists.

Henrietta reveals she not only has a gift for keeping Observers out of her mind, but she can teach the trick to others. The down side? It may take up to a year to train Peter, Olivia, Astrid and Walter.

The latest tape was barely decipherable, but Walter has left clues to himself where he hid things. Unfortunately, the thing they need is beyond a busy Observer Checkpoint. Olivia and Henrietta try to figure out a distraction, but no ideas are forthcoming. Until Walter remembers, something that he HID in the lab, years ago. What is it? What it is, relates to the last four years of Fringe Events.

And THIS can help them make a distraction. And so Fringe Division sets out to distract some Observers.

A new resistance fighter is revealed to us, we expected it, but until Henrietta explained about the method to deceive the Observers' Mind Reads, this could not be mentioned, or who it is-Until Now. It is a welcome surprise.

Windmark however tracks their movements, and what ensues is a costly getaway. The Observers can still materialize out of nowhere, and even move themselves out of harms way when an area becomes unsafe and there are only 2 seconds left.

There is no playing Fair with a race of advanced "people" who can read minds, kill with a thought, move from place to place. Nothing is said about them moving through time in the here-and-now - I am still assuming that only the original 12 "scientists" named after months could do that at will. But September (The Month that is) has come and gone, and September the Observer still has not been seen. Where is he?

This episode pulls out stops we never knew existed until now, it is all falling into place. I feel somehow we are chasing a MacGuffin of Gargantuan Hitchcockian Design. With 3 more episodes in this roll, perhaps we shall see. The Impossibilities are endless.

An Emotional Story of Love
claudio_carvalho7 April 2017
After collecting gas in a car, Peter sees a necklace in a pawnshop and decides to buy to Etta. However an Observer tries to read his mind and Peter succeeds to flee. Walter finds another partially damaged tape with Astrid but he recalls he hid documents in a highly protected subway station in Manhattan. They plot a plan using a chemical developed by David Robert Jones and succeed to retrieve the documents. But The Observers and the Loyalists arrive and Captain Windmark catches Etta with tragic consequences.

"The Bullet That Saved the World" is a heartbreaking episode of 'Fringe" with an emotional story of love. The unexpected fate of Etta will certainly affect the behavior of the characters on the next episodes. My vote is nine.

Warning: Spoilers
Peter is walking through one of the cities and goes into some little shop, but behind him is an observer who reads his mind. He reads of the little blonde girl and he notices he upsets him. The observer causes Peter to be cased through the streets into the sewer, they through an explosion down while he runs away from it into a bright light. Peter wakes up and a little boy is watching over him. Peter does not know where he is while the boy continues to play his instrument. Back in the lab and they gang find another tape. Peter comes back in telling everyone they know that Henrietta is with them. Peter gives her the new necklace in return for some information how they will learn to block their mind from Observers. The observers meet with Phillip to ask why the fugitives are able to get information. The observer says one of Phillip's men failed a security test and that the fugitives are getting information from a leak. The new video found is not much better then the last as it stops and starts between everything because it is not that clear. Some of the video gives information where Walter may have hidden some items. Walter figures out he put his plans underneath a train station and that it will be hard for them to get to it so Walter breaks through the amber to get something that might help them with getting the plans under the train station. They crew go into Walter's private place where he kept all Fringe events together. Some history is shown while we look at some past events that happened for the show. The observer interviews one of the loyalists again, he sees he is lying and gets in his head to find out where the fugitives are hiding. The observer looks into the employees mind trying to find out some more information for the resistance. The lab where the fugitives are is found so now they are not safe. Olivia sees that Henrietta found one of her old necklaces and tells her to keep it. Henrietta finds out the lab has been found so the guys must go as the observers come to find them. They re amber the lab to hide their steps which tricks the loyalists. The team set out their plan even though Walter's face has been seen it can be dangerous for the guys. Walter and Peter find the tube and have to run as people come out of no where. They get in the car and are able to get away with the tube they needed. The codes Walter wrote in past is unreadable by him, Henrietta then tells the guys to wait as they meet with Phillp who they have not seen in so long that he has aged while they have not. Phillip then tells them how he met Henrietta which came to this great reunion. The Observer finds the guys and they have to run as they have been tracked meaning they are not safe. Just as Phillip gets away two observers show up pointing in the direction of the guys meaning they are trapped in one building. The team then gets split up leaving Walter no where to be found and Henrietta on her own with an observer close on her trail. While Henriettais held up against the wall she tells the observer through her mind, how she knows Peter. The observer then shoots Henrietta meaning they have to leave her while she sacrifices herself to try and save everyone.

Some Foolish Moves
Hitchcoc17 November 2023
Overall, a well done episode. There are times when Peter does really stupid things. After he siphons gas from a vehicle, he puts himself and everyone else in danger by going into junk shop and buying necklace. He escapes from the Observer, but it is a dumb thing. Etta is a cool character and she is the opposite of what rules the world. A lot of those guys go down in this episode. Does it matter. They pop up here and there when there is danger. Are they really individual forces or bees (I said it before). I assume that at some point Walter will get his plan back in his head and find the way to change it all back.
