- Miss Aimee: Well, we look forward to seeing what you little girls are made of.
- Christmas Flint: [raises her hand]
- Miss Aimee: Uh huh, what is it angel?
- Christmas Flint: [in a confidential tone] We're made of organs and tissues.
- Christmas Flint: I want you to tell Joseph it gets better for people like us. For the ones with no mamas. Or the girl boys and the falsely accused bed wetters.
- [first lines]
- Christmas Flint: [looking up at the sky] Last summer momma gave me this flashlight to signal the aliens. She said, of course there's life out there. Now go outside. But now it's just me and y'all. The aliens of the universe. So if you can hear me, I'm Christmas Flint. Human female. I think you'd like me. I think you'd wanna be my friend.
- Christmas Flint: Boss, when were done talkin', you think our words travel out in the universe forever?
- Ramsey Flint: I sure as heck hope not.
- Miss Rayleen: [giving a pep talk] I want y'all to know that you're my boos. And I wish I had y'all around I was little, and dumb, and sweet.
- Christmas Flint: Can you see us better when we're together like this? Is our signal stronger? I think it is.
- Miss Rayleen: I don't get on good with little girls. I do arsonists, murderers, and state prosecutors. Little girls give me the creeps. Plus, you can't hit 'em no more. They changed the laws.
