Good episode, great set up !
tristan_191 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Metamorphosis is a solid episode setting the stage for the end of the season. The music is amazing and powerful here, and the surprises are sprinkled throughout.

From the get go, you feel the ominous tone. Cid's inaction is adressed, but the Batch has yet another mission to complete. We get some exploration of the Kaminoans and the Empire. Nala Se refuses to cooperate and stands her ground, but the Doctor has other plans.

The Batch explores a ship, but it turns out some creature has eaten the crew. I was surprised the showrunners brought back another Zillo Beast, but it makes sense. Palpatine's plans with it are still in motion and began before Order 66, and the Empire takes it back to experiment on.

Lama Su betrays his former friend for self preservation... What a snake. But now the Empire will be on the lookout for Omega. The episode shaked up the story and provided some thrills and excitation about what's to come. It's a pretty good set up and a good departure from the last two episodes.

A plot driven episode
Universal_Reviews1 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
With Mandalorian premiering the same day as this episode, I was a bit cautious about which one I should watch first. Undoubtedly I chose Mandalorian as it has proven to be a lot more entertaining than the Bad Batch in the past.

However, right after I watched this new Bad Batch episode and I must say, I felt disappointed while watching until halfway through the episode. They lead the episode to make it feel like a filler until we see the zillo beast and the Empire play it's part in all of this. We knew that Palpatine has always wanted to abuse the zillo beast and use it to his advantage from the Clone Wars and it was such an amazing throwback to see it again.

I'm wondering by the way things ended where the season is going. It feels like the Bad Batch will be leaving Cid and will move to a bigger cause, which is fighting the Empire. Episode 12 has been said to revolve around Crosshair so I can't wait to see what happens there! Overall, 8/10. Amazing episode, great way to get the plot moving and show us what we might be seeing in the coming episodes.

The Zillo Beast returns!!
poseyfan2 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This was a solid episode. It advanced the story a good amount, and that is always good. This gave us a good premise for what the future could hold for this show: cloning. For better or worse; because as we know, all roads lead to the sequels. Namely: The Rise of Skywalker and Palpatine.

Anyways, this was an interesting and entertaining episode. We are introduced to an imperial cell on a forest-ridden planet run by mostly Clone Commandos. They are led by a mysterious doctor. This will be important as we go forward.

The Bad Batch finds a small Zillo Beast, and it ends up growing extremely big. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Solid episode.

No one will be watching this or reading this today
ha77y73ad971 March 2023
I chose to watch this before the premier episode of the Mandalorian. Which i think was a good choice with this being quite an important story for not just the Bad Batch but Star Wars as a whole

Waiting to see the Kaminoans to return in season 2 wasn't a fierce fighting story but lying down possible foundations of what may be the redeeming factor of the sequel trilogy. Whenever we get a story surrounding cloning we know where this is going to end up with the failure of Snoke/ Palpatines useless bodies but this seemed to add more details that the Empire/Galactic Republic were trying their hand at cloning as well.

There wasnt any true connections to the Mandalorian episode that was released today but from the trailer and the rumour mill that seems to be coming about we're are going to be in for a great ride going forward.

Zillo is back just in time to devour the haters
moritzherz1 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It is incredible to see how intelligent Dave Filoni and his crew are, not forgetting anything they created in the Clone Wars. Step for step we get the unfinished storylines finished. This time out beloved Zillo beast.

The episode did not just contain old characters from the clone wars like Lama Su and Nala Se but also continues the new plotline started in the first season of The Bad Batch. We are getting new parts of the puzzle around the whole cloning procedure the empire is working on and I love this mysterious storytelling. It keeps the tension high and makes me looking forward to the finale.

I also want to mention the top notch animation, this episodes really stood out. It's incredible to see what is possible today.

With this said, this episode is definitely worth watching because it is important for the entire shows plot.

Alien lite.
Original_Acrobat21 March 2023
Is your child too young to watch Alien but you want to slowly introduce them to it? Then this is the episode for you.

This episode wasn't made for the kids alone, not with all the perfect little notes to the Alien series of films. It was a lovingly done tribute to some of the best sci-fi horror there is.

It was rather enjoyable and fun to pick out all the nods and it even excelled in building the atmosphere when they first enter the ship.

Great episode. A hell of a lot of fun and ties in well to the overarching narrative they are trying to tell.

It was fun to see the return of an awesome creature.

It finally came back
shuva-641421 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Most of the second season of Bad Batch has been a dissapointment. Besides 4 episodes, the season had lacked depth, emotion and real danger. It has been a continous parade of filler episodes, that don't show any growth in our main plotline or more importantly, the characters. This episode finally changed that. Re-introducing the Kaminoans gave us a continuation of what was set up in the first season, and it gives now a clear mission of what the Bad Batch, Echo and Rex are after. In my humble opinion, it also gives us the beginning of the cloning experimetantion from The Empire, that also happens in the Mandalorian that ultimately finishes with the comeback of Palpatine in Episode 9. I really hope that the show continues this course, since it was this level of story that was achieved in season 1 and had been missing so far in season 2.

The Zillo beast is back
TheSandrox1 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The bad batch is facing one of its best chapters in the entire series, which faces one of the greatest threats in the world of star wars, the zillo beast, which has returned after its small arc in the clone wars, where that horror movie aura that the chapter has at times in the first two acts and that when it is revealed that it is a zillo beast, you know that everything will get out of control and because all the characters have a good writing, simple but acceptable and the action is exciting and all the revelations end up being impressive and for the rest nothing to say, they already have me bought with the beast zillo, without a doubt one of the best chapters of the entire series.

Finally a fantastic thread
theoweemaster1 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Besides The Solitary Clone (and the major two part clone conspiracy) I found the rest of the season to be good, but not living up to the nearly flawless first season. The filler episodes have been fun and engaging (and in some ways underrated,) it still boggles my mind how we are this far in without a solid thread yet again. Its been disappointing...

...until now. Bringing back the Zillo beast while we wait for the machinations of the Empire to continue growing was thrilling, and I was not expecting any of that for this week.

Well done to the team, and hopefully, with only about 5 or so episodes left, we can ditch the filler and bring this second season to a satisfying close. I mean, with a finale title of plan 99, it's gotta be fantastic right?

Zillo: Skull Island
Trey_Trebuchet3 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Is this show actually sort of finding its tried now?

This was actually pretty cool. It starts off like a horror movie, similar to that Clone Wars episode about the zombies or that Mandalorian episode with the spiders. All of the stuff with the clones stuck in a ship with a creature they cannot see was neat.

But this ends up actually tying in to the main plot in seemingly big ways, which was unexpected and really welcoming. The Empire really does just suck. This season has done a good job showing just how careless and conniving they are to all who oppose them. I really love what Jimmi Simpson is doing with Dr. Hemlock so far. Really good intro for a potentially great villain.

And are we going to get more of Rampart? Is he just donezo?

Anyway, this was an entertaining episode with great direction and animation. Hopefully the rest of this season keeps up the good quality as well.

This should have been episode one
Badger12102 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
On a good note, this was better than most of the episodes in the season. It has an interesting and mysterious adversary and has now tied Omega to a larger story possibility than just being an annoying diversity hire. Another plus, Omega had far less dialog, what a treat.

Unfortunately, this episode comes far too late after so many underwhelming and pointless episodes. Add to that, the team failed in yet another mission. Omega just so happened to have knowledge to provide in a way that sums up this seasons contrived writing.

Worst of all, they have to bring back a creature from the clone wars series. Can these writers and show runners not come up with an original story, they have to draw upon the past?

This will be the final season of the series, the bar cannot be raised up at this point, yet more IP destroyed by people who cannot write stories that are meaningful and lasting. Very sad indeed.

Everything is Connected
atkinsonlouise-738739 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
After some fun missions, we are back to the real meat and gravy and man this was fun. Seeing the Clone Commandos in action was great, even if it was on the other side. The return of the Zillo beast was a nice touch, showing this series is very much a follow up to Clone Wars. Also the Alien parallels were very nice and well done for what is considered a kids show. This and Mando are both setting up Palpatine in Episode IX, which while I don't like that movie a lot, is adding stuff to the universe and making it more interesting. This is similar to how Clone Wars added more detail and depth to the prequel era, which the movies failed to do somewhat. As a Clone Wars fan and horror when done right, this was a very good episode and I had a lot of fun. Score: 8.5/10.
