The ending is the real mystery

"Tayna" or "Mystery" is a Russian 7-minute short film from 2011, so this one had its 5th anniversary last year. The writer and director is Andrey Zvyagintsev and he is today mostly known of course for the very successful "Leviafan". Here we have one of his earlier career efforts and this one is about a woman who apparently intends to hire a private eye to find out if her man is cheating on her. But the private detective apparently does not need the money or whatever and suggests she should not necessarily hire him if she really loves her husband. And in the end we have the woman seeing a couple kiss and it is all a bit unclear and vague to be honest. I find it difficult to understand this little movie and it's also not one where you say it's good this way and open to interpretation. It's just bizarre. Also the way the woman goes in the direction towards the couple they could have seen her anytime if the kissing girl had put down the glass of wine earlier. It is a bit of a stylish view and film, but it is also on the style over substance side. I cannot recommend checking it out.
