one half of what could have been a hot couple
Allow me to insult that little weedy guy again, because I've done it in several of my other reviews of REVENGE. But watching today, I just moaned to myself again "they'd have been a hot couple if only Declan was played by somebody else" Okay, what do I know about guys, or what girls find attractive in guys, but this Connor Paolo seems a total mismatch for the beauty of the American princess, the Grayson heir Charlotte (Christa B. Allen) and this effectively cancels them out as a hot couple. As for the lovely young lady though, wow, let it be known that I only gladly watch because she is in it, well, in most episodes anyway, almost all, my research shows.
Yet another rabbit pulled out of the hat in this episode. That letter was in the Infinity Box all the time? Never mentioned? You see what I mean with my criticism, not so much of the concept of the show, but with the execution of its story-line?
It's a wayward show that doesn't keep to the tracks. Imagine years back, we're watching DALLAS, all of a sudden one of the characters suddenly has Martial skills, and there's this whole hitherto unmentioned-before back story with expert fighting skills? That's kinda an unacceptable plot tweak. It just doesn't really, really fit in with the Hamptons soap opera theme. It stretches credibility to a point where it becomes just too much. What surprised me about this, this was REVENGE, a top-rated show, and no, that's not really what took me by surprise, the surprise for me being that people, the fans, the viewers, take it just like that. Two episodes ago, I didn't even place a review, I remain at a loss, the show really took a turn there with a monumental back story. Stuff that, when you watch Season 1 again, you'd think BUT HERE IS NO PRELUDE TO THAT. A surprise? No, passing just anything off onto the audience, more like it. Hell, they could do a THE COLBYS finale and have a UFO abduct Victoria and Conrad Grayson and (to coin a phrase from my native South African Dutch language) you lot might eat it for sweet cake!
:)
Anyway, you (guys) could watch it for Emily. I watch it for Charlotte. Thank you, and goodnight. Maybe I'll stop it now. :)
As for this episode, hell, isn't (most of) the cat out of the bag now? With the realization of "a tainted jury" (the memory of) David Clarke has been all but exonerated...? And then so much of what Emily set out to do, has been done. What's gonna be the theme in seasons #3 and #4 when the current broken- backed theme expires?
