Interesting character
ejcarney12 February 2013
I couldn't disagree more about the other reviews of this episode. It brought in a new, vibrant, quirky, not unsympathetic character. The episode suggests that we're likely to see more of Logan Pierce. I, for one, would look forward to it. The episode was energetic and refreshing, bringing to an end the Donnelly sequence, that I found overextended.

This show never disappoints, even when they go a bit over the top (two bomb vests?! C'mon.). This episode had a wisecracky kind of humor that was a departure from the stolid punning that Reese and Finch indulge in. The revenge fantasy motif never seems to grow old, does it? Any show that sticks with and uses a character like Lionel Fusco long enough to make him sympathetic is worth watching.

Episode good but not quite up to POI standards
mikejov48 February 2013
I am a big POI fan, loving the edge and humor of each episode. However, last night's One Per Cent was a disappointment. Overall quality was above most everything else on TV right now, but not quite up to POI's excellent standard. I couldn't get into the story until it was almost half done. Even the humor between Mr. Reese and Mr Finch seemed strained. Perhaps that is because the last 4 episodes were so incredible that anything that followed was bound to be a bit of a letdown. Mr. Reese was irritated by the POI, more so than I have noticed him in the past. One of the best scenes occurred between Mr. Reese and Mr. Finch, when John explained to Harold that he was not quite himself because of spending all that time at Rykers, then being captured by Kara, wearing a bomb vest, almost getting blown up, etc. Bear had the mopes as well. Another fun scene was when Mr. Reese, in his roll as a very rich hedge fund manager, bid $10 million of Mr. Finch's money for a box of Einstein's letters to get the POI's attention. We didn't get any reaction shot after the bid, it just dropped. The POI character was really irritating, which he was supposed to be, but there were so many others it got confusing. I wondered who wrote and directed this episode because it was so different from POI normal; if he does anymore episodes he needs to understand that the strength of this show is the depth of the characters, and their interaction with each other. Missed Det. Carter interacting with Mr. Reese - they clearly love each other, but they don't realize it yet, and it has yet to be defined if it is romantic or friend love. Hopefully next episode, on Valentine's Day, will be back to POI standards.

The Annoying Billionaire
claudio_carvalho25 February 2024
The Machine delivers the number of the reckless self-made billionaire Logan Pierce, who was the son of a bankrupted family. Pierce quitted the college when he founded with his best friend and partner, Justin Ogilvie, the social network friendczar. Now the company will go public in a couple of days, and Pierce has many enemies. Reese tries to approach to Pierce, but it is not easy since he is a mistrustful man and does not respect any rule. Soon Reese tries a different approach.

"One Percent" is one of the weakest episodes of "Person of Interest", with an annoying billionaire protected by Reese and Finch. The plot is not good, and Reese traveling to San Petersburg (Russia) with Pierce is maybe the worst part of the show. The best part could be the revelation of Fusco to Carter of his past, but she interrupts him, and he does not have the chance to disclose to her. My vote is seven.

The Anna Sanders Plot Line Here?
Emmjewels2 December 2018
Loved the episode but couldn't understand why the actress who played Anna didn't receive credit for her performance, nor could I locate her name. Any way to rectify this? Still miss the show after all this time.

The Other PoI Team
nightringer-7684018 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Logan Pierce is the exact opposite of both Finch and Reese. Since the series already ended, it is well known by the fans that Logan Pierce is the leader of the extended PoI team. They handle international PoI Irrelevant numbers.

A billionaire who is hungry for excitement and seeking a purpose in life. Simpson truly played his role convincingly. As one of regular casted actor by J Nolan, Simpson can slip into characters like a chameleon. And one of Pierce best character feature is curiosity of the unknown, making him the perfect candidate for PoI International leader.

The sad part is, no matter how interesting the character is, PoI spin off never happened. This twam should be realized as a series and continues PoI saga.

Worst Episode of Series So Far
Dave-3308 February 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Person of Interest has been on such a role lately as everything seemed to be going great and then last night's episode hit with a thud.

This may be harsh, but why change what is not broken and make the entire episode shaky camera ugliness without much of a coherent plot? The episode reminded me of Chris Fisher's "Rampage" movie which was virtually unwatchable as well. Fisher has directed three episodes of POI so far, yet this is the first time I felt his "style" come through the screen and smack me upside the head. At the end of the episode, all I was left with was a headache and confusion on what was presented.

The writing seemed a notch below the norm as well with the episode not even feeling like a Person of Interest, but instead like a bad "24" clone with a dose of "The Social Network" added in. The out of left field trip to Russia was completely unnecessary and ill-conceived.

I think there may have been more guest actors on this single episode than all of Season 1 combined. Why did they need so many new characters, while the police officer regulars did nothing notable in this episode?

The actor who played the lead in the episode did a fine job with his annoying character, but the choice to add over the top shaky cam work to a relatively weak script pretty much cemented this as the worst episode of Person of Interest that has been shown so far.
