[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Acapulco Season 3, Episodes 6 & 7.] Acapulco‘s third season has taken a deeper dive into the backstory of pool boy Hector (Rafael Cebrián) with the show’s latest episodes, “Take a Chance on Me” and “Video Killed the Radio Star.” It turns out that the hustling Las Colinas worker has a life quite different outside of the resort setting fans came to know him in as his home life portrayed his paternal role as an uncle to his young nephew Andrés (Ricardo Galina). Acapulco takes a deep dive into one of its more colorful characters as Season 3’s sixth episode, “Take a Chance on Me,” shines a spotlight on pool boy Hector (Rafael Cebrián). In a tradition for the show, having done background stories for Las Colinas employees, Don Pablo (Damián Alcázar) and Diane (Jessica Collins) in past seasons, this time around, series creator Austin Winsberg says, “Rather than doing something that’s another sort of historical backstory into who they are, maybe it’s interesting to do something in the present where we get to see another character outside of the hotel that we wouldn’t necessarily expect.” Apple TV+ The character in question is Hector, who is played by Cebrián both past and present. Taika Waititi, the filmmaker who won an adapted screenplay Oscar for “Jojo Rabbit” in 2020, has dropped a new trailer for his forthcoming sports-themed feature comedy “Next Goal Wins,” a mini-featurette that plays to the tune of Abba’s “Take A Chance On Me” and teases the film’s charming humor. The film opens in theaters on November 17, capping a lengthy delay for the project that wrapped production nearly four years ago. Watch the trailer above.
