It clearly shows that this film was shot on iphone because of the poor video quality even in 1080p but keeping even that aside, there isn't much going on in this film. The film starts with an interesting cold open setting up some reasonably high stakes for a 30 minute short film but in the end transpires to become comical.

This film solidifies that vishal bhardwaj is really only bound by the commercialization of the hindi film industry but still, he brings life to an artificial studio set piece using some incredible lighting, costume, silhouettes and design.

My big takeaway from this film would be songs and nothing much else because I'm still conflicted about the performances and I don't really know what to make of them.

Fursat. Is a musical drama short with a strong impact on presentation. Vishal Bharadwaj done a good job and make the thing clear cut and perform in a appropriate way . Story and character provide the material in a better way the story execution the film to a level that make it an exciting watch.

While there are some of you argue that there are worth of rigs and post production element s that do factor into the final result. The acting of the male character and female lead is good and the script and screenplay are nice and make mind in a peace the dance scene are good and song in the film are aset of pieces.

A short musical thriller !! Loved it !! Something refreshingly different!!

Film Review: Fursat ( a short musical thriller streaming on Disney+ Hotstar) #sanjuzzreviews #Fursat #ishankhattar #vishalbhardwaj #iphone14pro Shot entirely using an iPhone14 Pro & directed by ace director Vishal Bhardwaj, Fursat is very different kind of film which might not appeal to everyone.

It is a five line story made into a film, but not using the conventional 2 dimensional approach.

Ishaan khattar plays a man obsessed with his gadget "Doordarshak" capable of seeing the future. His obsession is such that he misses his engagement on account of it. His fiance gets engaged to another man in frustration & Ishaan sees something in his Doordarshak which brings a whole new dimension to the story.

Be warned, it is a musical and there are many songs in the 30 min runtime of the film. Many of you might feel that the songs slow down the pace of the film but no, it has been presented that way by design. Ishan is brilliant & the dances have been choreographed very well to compliment the narrative perfectly. Icing on the cake is that the film has been shot in its entirety using an iPhone 14 Pro. Just brilliant!!

Worth spending 30 mins of your time to watch something different !!

What A Waste

Well, there is nothing much to talk about except it was shot on a phone. Well done for that and 1 star for that. That's it.

Story is haphazard, screenplay is a mess, acting of male lead is irritating and nonsensical. Female lead did best what was asked from her. Would like to see her progress more in a better set up. Male lead is pain actually.

VB shot this on iphone but what about the production value of the film. It's lavish and grandeur. Just by saying it was shot on a phone doesn't convey that anyone can make a film of this opulence. Stop fooling.

VB helmed Shakespearean trilogy which is reverred till today. This one is just a waste.

More than just a promotional content!

When you hire someone like Vishal Bharadwaj to endorse your newest tech, you will receive so much more than just a promotional piece to sell your products, as is evident in this example.

Fursat is a fantasy-musical drama short with a strong emphasis on presentation. Given the predetermined conditions, Mr. Bharadwaj did a fine job by keeping things clear cut.

While the story and characters provide little in the way of working material, the execution elevates the film to a level that makes it an exciting watch. In terms of pure technical specifications, the iPhone's cameras do offer admirable quality and uniformity throughout.

Now, some of you may argue that there are additional thousands of dollars' worth of rigs and post-production elements that do factor into the final result, but it's great to see that technology has come a long way, in today's world, anyone can follow their dreams with the phone in their pocket, no fancy equipment required, at least in the beginning.

P. S. Ishan, if you're reading this; do work with Mr. Bharadwaj, he will bring the best out of you just like he did with your big brother.

Whats the point in shooting with Iphone, but having a budget more than a regular movies

Movie is shot with Iphone, but its budget is more than a regular movies. Real achievement would have been to make an engaging thought provoking movie with very low budget too.

Its 30. Mins ling movie and full of songs and dance set pieces. Can the director please let us know why anyone would like to watch such movie. There is hardly any screenplay or story here. No dialogues or concept.

Ishan Khattar is not a good actor. He thinks growing beard, running, breathing heavily, shouting, sweating etc is acting. He should see Irfan Khan's work. His eyes used to act. Dude stop partying and learn in some acting school. Audience don't feel conmected to you.

Actress has good screen presence.

Vishal Bharwaj as a director is hugely dissapointing. Dont go for the gimmick iphone shot movie.l, its waste of time.

Normally, I skip ahead on commercials. This kept my attention. I had to know more, what was this?? I think it is genius of Apple, and I hate to admit that, because they are an evil corporation...lol. The Hippy in me. I think it opens up the cultural divide between us open minded. I'm happy about the worlds melting pot and love learning about others way of living and thinking. With more understanding, less judgement, and a attitude of kindness, this world can improve and we need that right now. I took a point away, for lack of subtitles, so I knew what they are saying. I need 26 no 12 more cha🤣

It was real treat to wotcha gheesa pita subject of a love story where the hero is genius dating a girl postponing their engagement but this time He is busy researcher and he sees future in his Antique Monocular Instrument !. A train is shown in desert with opera belle running alternatively with superb drone cam use. He catches the girl and asks her to post pond as Door Darshan i.e. Door Darshak and wittily DUKH DARSHAK hints they are gone be robbed in 7 Minutes !!! Fun is there as the Daku brings a Green Flag in stead of Red to stop the train !!!. But the hero has already pulled chain to stop the train. Train is robbed with all theatrical moves of dances postures positions... Now the girl is a Doctor too !! She forecasts the chief of Daku is gone have a Heart Attack !! Looking to the sweating signs !! Chief Faints and the first AID box is having a portable Defibrillator !!! You are given 7 Peg kick in 30 mins. Now every story must end with a UPDESH ... so knowing future is not worthy is classically demonstrated.!!!! VB has worked in DOOR Darshan and he pays back in his whimsy classy short adventures film. You will enjoy even more if it is with drinks. I said 7 peg kick like. It had to be an absurd but three cheers to the photography, thats why VB chooses it to be belle and not full length film !!!! One should be thankful for that + -; Only iPhone mobile can used ... This makes one of the best advertised campaign! Amazing work out put at such a profe#ional stage taking all dimensions !!

DIFFERENT

Bit different mode of storytelling but there is no story so just the telling won't keep you engrossed if you aren't stoned. This isn't great cinema its below average.

Shahid's brother should stop acting he's just occupying space of someone who's a better actor. If he can become an actor then anybody can.

VB needs to make dark cinematic masterpieces like his Shakespeare trilogy. But problem is no producer is willing to greenlight him because financially all his films haven't recovered the budget ever. Gems like kaminey, haider, omkara, 7 khoon maaf, maqbool weren't able to break-even at BO And when he throws in a Matru ki Bijlee or Rangoon in between it keeps the producers at bay.

His son is also interested in the same genre but his first film kuttey bombed at BO sadly a script is required which has substance.

Musical Film

I was amazed to hear that, this film was shot on IPhone 14 Pro Max!!.

The quality of the work is just awesome. This shows the dedication to the work. When I heard a quote from a Film Maker on a Film Making Course, which I took, he says, "Equipment doesn't matter". Yes these people proved it. Even though they have used Cranes or Jimmy's even some shots contained Aerial Views. Am not sure how they might have captured that particular aerial shots. The complete plot was neatly carried out until the climax. Enjoyed the musical festival here. I would liked more if it was outputted to the Aspect Ratio of 2.39:1 rather than 16:9.

Stop it Ishan, You can't act.

When a film is being promoted with the biggest selling point being shot on iPhone, one actually lowers their expectations. But this was even worst than expected, Apple could've saved the money spent on making this film to make ads.

They hired Vishal Bharadwaj, this guy had made really good movies but now he seems like a shadow of his former self. Lead actor is the generic Ishan Khattar, who seems to be Bollywood's favorite whenever they want to make a movie on low budget.

In this movie Ishan has grown a beard to look mature but his acting is still amature. He is trying really hard to act but is looking cringe.

Ishan you are not a good actor, stop using your brother and father's influence to get roles, it is not working. And you lack the natural innocent charm of your brother that helped him mask his acting capabilities during his initial years.

Lead actress was just average. Rest of the characters were forgetful.

Story doesn't exist. As the main focus is on showing the video capabilities of iPhone.

Most of the budget is spent on shooting elaborate sequences.

I don't understand who's funding this garbage? VB has proven again he's just an overindulgent gimmicky director. Ishan is not even tv serial material but the benefits of being shahid's brother has pushed him into the correct circles.

VB would have been better just shooting an ad for the iPhone instead of making this utter piece of rubbish!

There is no story in the 40min bore, but a songs pops up every 3mins.

If it wasn't shot on the phone i wouldn't have even bothered with this but since hotstar has released it I feel it's only fair to expect some basics...From the story, acting, cinematography, music etc, everything is just pure torture.

Totally time and bandwidth waste

I don't know why people make such things and waste time of audience. Even any 2 min reel would be better than this short movie.

Movie made to look like any theatre drama but it's not even near to that or even 1%.

Movie started with a cool idea of watching future, then what happened in between is all flash and hard to interpret. This could be made better than naming it fursat and ideally the name resembles the movie correctly, if you have very much spare time 'fursat' then this movie is just a click away, next would be you writing the same review in fursat. Next is you, either save your time or have fursat.

FURSAT:-a short masterpiece on time and its futility and importance.

Fursat is a short musical romantic film directed by vishal bharadwaj.

This film is one of vishal bharadwaj's finest works. The themes he explained through the groundbreaking music is phenomenal. Add to that, ishan khattar and wamiqa gabbi share a good chemistry. The lyrics written by gulzar is outstanding. It amazes me how this man moulded himself according to the generations. The commentary on how futile its to control time is brilliant. The fact that despite knowing that dacoits are going to attack the train, he cannot evade it. The cinematography is breathtaking. The shots and metaphors to a clock that are used is a thing to marvel at. This is a cinematic masterpiece, guys. A story said in 26minutes, entirely shot on an iphone, really deserves your appreciation.

Just Irritating and boring

It has spammed almost all digital spaces with irritating ads of this short film. They are just branding Apple and nothing else. Hope this just gets died down quickly so that we can enjoy our content without this unwanted piece spamming the digital content. It's ads are almost 3mns when viewing a 20-30mns piece of content. This shirt film ads just keep popping up 3-4 times, 3mns of time in a 30mns content. It's only an ad to showcase Apple but now it's become so irritating and it's in the nerve each time I see it. I just seriously hope that this just goes out of all spaces. I don't know any fursat to view this.

A well crafted short film shot on iPhone

Wow this film is produced to showcase the incredible video shooting capabilities of the new iPhone 14 pro, but when I watched this movie, the camera was so seamless that most of the times I forgot the fact that this was shot on a phone. The problem with most influencers nowadays is that they want to make the camera twist and turn in weird angles and do "creative" shots, but the forget the fact that they have to focus on the story as well, and look beyond the camera, there are lots of things which are done off camera, the movie script is written well beyond what meets the viewer's eye in the final film. This is exactly what Bharadwaj focused on as a filmmaker, the musical was so on point, the movie nailed it, in terms of story for a short film, it followed the rules of the world on which it was built upon. Yes they used top end techniques, budget, and production value was not something which can be achieved on a small budget, but this film went on to show us that, excuses such as not having a decent camera is a drawback, the camera is not the limit anymore, it is our creativity and artistic touch which should enable us to push our limits. There are lots of things I want to write, but this film felt so personal to me, the lead character was so much like me, the way he was and the problems was going through is something which I deeply connected with him, maybe that was the reason for me to come and write the first review of this film.

This is exactly what the creators intended for the viewers to experience, not the camera, but the story and the world.

P. S. I don't have the budget to buy an iPhone 14 pro, I'm just a normal middle class, young adult, trying to achieve something in my life. I am not associated with the film crew in any way. So please don't think I am a privileged idiot who is giving you some profound gyaan.

Waste of time and energy !

If you are going to watch it because of Vishal bhardwaj... You will regret your decision.

It is a dumb movie with No sense at all. It will give you a headach in a short span of 30 mins.

I am fan of Vishal bhardwaj but totally got disappointed. The worst part is that I showed my family this movie and everybody cursed me.

Characters are not acting they are simply delivering the dialogue and story is totally non-understandable you don't understand the ending also. And then you regrate why you decided to watch the movie ?

Because of Vishal bhardwaj or because of iPhone.

Only iPhone videography is good else everything is just dumb !

all show, no stuff

A movie that's just 30 minutes long and has like 5 or more songs in it. Why all these songs? They might have tried to make it a musical but it just doesn't add anything and just ends up diluting the overall experience.

If the idea of the movie is just to show that you can make a visually pleasing moving movie with i phone, i think they proved their point.

But from a movie experience point of view, its just not convincing at all. The characters were really underwritten, the most of the running time was just used for songs, which actually dampers the experience. I really felt they could have written more scenes just to develop the characters and story. The plot of the story was really good, the production design and visuals were nice, but in the end it just feels like all show no stuff, expected much more from a Vishal Bharadwaj movie.

I will plan a movie very low budget for crowd fund but not going to red camera we need 5d or black magic still changed my opinion beacause iam just watched your movie fursat really brilliant excellent quality...! Plz tell me now I installed filmic pro app in my device which aspect ratio use now Indian theatres plz tell open gate aspect ratio for iPhone i have anamorphic Len's for beast grip anamorphic mk2 and vnd & black mist and cpl filters iam ready to going our project plz tell iPhone theatrical movie possible and which aspect ratio use now with anamorphic Len's pls reply iam waiting your suggestion thank you...!
