Episode seven of season two of "Star Wars: Visions" comes from Indian animation studio, "88 Pictures", regular collaborators on Dreamworks projects, which does make sense with the 3D 'realistic' animation style of this one.
Whilst on a train to the city of Golak, Rani (Sonai Kaushal) accidentally reveals that she's Force Sensitive, a fact that her big brother, Charuk (Suraj Sharma) has been trying to hide. They manage to escape the Imperial forces on the train and make it to the city - but are then met by an Inquisitor (Neeraj Kabi) who tricks Rani to revealing her secret. Unbeknownst to them, they have fortunately made it to the one place of refuge, and only person on the planet who can help them.
Lots of similar themes to what we've seen before in this one. Again, Star Wars is pushed through the prism of another culture's view. This time the clothing, architecture, and food of India. Again, the plot involves a maternal mentor figure. There's a cool looking light sabre fight. There's a little less to the story of this one than there has been for some of the other ones, and perhaps it's a little lacking in surprises, but it's smart whilst it lasts and has quite a bittersweet ending. It's looks really impressive though and is reminiscent of the sort of artwork we see in existing "Star Wars" shows, like "Rebels" and "The Bad Batch".
I wouldn't particularly want to see more of this story, but it was a solid episode.
